Dr. Tan is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology and Medical Oncology. He joined Premier Oncology Hematology in October 2012. He completed both his residency training in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at Saint Louis University. Dr. Tan also has a molecular biology and research background at the University of Chicago Hospitals. He currently serves as Clinical Assistant Professor at Indiana University School of Medicine educating medical students. His passion for science keeps him up to date in cutting edge treatment options for cancer and blood disorders, and he has numerous publications in prestigious scientific journals such as Journal of Clinical Oncology. His philosophy is to deliver comprehensive, compassionate and personalized care for his patients. When appropriate he employs a new technology called "Next Generation Sequencing" which is a fully informative genomic profile that helps make personalized treatment decisions by identifying the molecular growth driver of the cancer and matches them with relevant therapeutic options. His goal is to listen to and understand the needs of each individual patient, answer their questions, and guide them through every complex step of their diagnosis and treatment. Special Interests: Dr. Tan's areas of interest include all adult malignancies, blood disorders, and clinical trials/research. He also has special interest in genomic profiling/next generation sequencing to offer personalized oncology care. I treat all blood disorders, benign and malignant.  In fact hematologic malignancies are an area of special interest.  I also treat all solid tumor malignancies such as breast, lung, colon, prostate, kidney, liver, melanoma, sarcoma, brain cancer, head and neck cancer, mesothelioma, stomach cancer, testicular, ovarian, endometrial cancer, cervical cancer.
