We were not impressed at all with Dr Schimmel's lack of compassion & attentiveness. My husband had open heart surgery & we met with him for a follow up appt prior to meeting with the surgeon. He asked my husband how he was, & seemed not at all interested in hearing his/our answers. I'm puzzled as to why he bothered asking. It was more about clicking away at the computer & moving on to the next patient. Major surgery, emotional journey. Dr. lacked ability to provide empathetic, quality care.

Excetional doctor. If you have a heart problem you will not find a more qualified or caringdoctor. I and my whole family trust my heart care to Dr .Schimmel and no other doctor. He takes time with you and tells you exactly what he is doing and why. If you ask a question he answers in terms you understand .

I have been with Dr.Schimmel since May of 2015. He is the first cardiologist I have seen in my life and will I tell you the last. He always maintains a professional mannerism and I have to question his medical judgement. Because of him I can honestly say i am in the best shape of my life.

I met Dr. Schimmel at Memorial, when I went in with chest pain. He was assigned to me and did a cardiac catheterization. The only issue was the procedure was about 7 hours late. It was on the lab, not the Doctor. He was wonderful and did as I requested about being passed out for procedure. He apologized several times for the lateness. I'd definitely recommend him and everyone has a bad day, so I would need to see him in office couple times. He's in Mandarin, so kinda far for me. ??

Our first time here and apparently this office was newly relocated. Dr Shimmel entered the room quickly, sat down at his computer and asked many questions really fast while starring at his computer. Insensitively he was cutting my husband off before he could finish answering the questions(I counted a total of 4 times)! This doctor was cocky when answering our questions and terrible rude! Dr's phone went off the entire time my husband was seen and answered the texts! (it wasn't on vibrate)
