As a parent we must advocate for our children's healthcare especially if our child has a special health need. Recently our child had a facial/ head injury and was seen at UVMC ED. Protocol is already in place for children with hemophilia or severe bleeding disorders. We told Dr. Homans that protocol was not followed, neither was the heme Dr notified during the visit (protocol). You've lived long enough to know that life's not perfect. Dr Homans. Unacceptable, next time may not be so good.
