I was in horrible pain for over a year and tried many solutions. Finally I was referred to Dr. Hilibrand by a friend and he performed a decompression & fusion of L4/5. I am extremely pleased with my experiences with Dr. Alan Hilibrand. In Nov 2018 he performed anterior/posterior fusion from L3 to S1 to correct degenerative scoliosis and lumbar stenosis. Prior to surgery, I was very limited in my ability to walk or stand and had severe pain in my lower back and right leg. Other physicians only recommended shots, meds, and P.T. which were not solving my problems. A few months after surgery, I was back to all my normal activities and without the pain. At my pre and post appointments, Dr. Hilibrand was informative, thorough, and I appreciated his demeanor. I wanted the best skilled surgeon and I feel I found it in Dr. Hilibrand.

Dr. Hillibrand was incredibly thoughtful and took time to help craft the best surgical outcome. I am now 10 weeks post surgery from an L4-L5 fusion, and my pain is 98% gone.

Drove 70 miles each way to see him; waited two hours. Went for specific test he insisted on and then he would not call me with the results. Instead he had a nurse practitioner call me who clearly did not have a command on the subject of spine surgery.

Although he was run late something I expect and don’t influence my rating of dr. I went to dr. Hillebrand to gain a second option on a back surgery. Dr hillebrand sat next to me and explained in detail what was going on and why he would not recommend surgery at this time. I’m blessed to have surgeons who tell you like it is and also warn you if someone else is wanting to to stay away

Poor experience. Physician dominated the appointment and did not listen to me. A list of questions I had brought with me were ignored. Very little time was spent reviewing X-rays and MRI with me. After driving over 2 hours to get to the appointment and spending a couple of hundred dollars on doctors visits and the MRI this is unacceptable.

I selected Dr. Hilibrand after consulting with 2 other surgeons. I had tingling going down my legs, burning in my ankles, and neuropathy in my feet. On Feb. 6, I had a laminectomy and spinal fusion L4/L5. Almost 4 weeks later I am pain free, walking around the block, and starting PT soon. My gratitude to Dr. Hilibrand and his team is enormous. I selected a person with expertise, skill, kindness, and compassion. He is the best of the best!

He walked out of the office because I would not sign up for surgery on the spot. I emailed Rothman but they did not care. I had my surgery in PA.

Dr. Hilibrand is one of the nicest doctors I have interacted with. His NP, Jody, is also wonderful, kind, and helpful. Dr Hilibrand is an "in-demand" surgeon and for very good reason. He engenders confidence in his medical knowledge and surgical skill and he is easy to talk to. He removed a cyst from my lower back which was pressing on my sciatic nerve causing severe pain and performed a spinal fusion in Feb. 2017. I have been pain free ever since. So glad he did the surgery!
