Dr. Aimee Mackey was born and raised in Baton Rouge, LA, and is an alumnus of St. Joseph's Academy. She graduated from LSU and earned her Doctor of Medicine from LSU Medical School in Shreveport. She then completed general surgery residency at Ochsner Clinic New Orleans and a fellowship in Breast Surgical Oncology at Columbia University in New York, NY. In 2012, she joined the faculty at Duke University as an Assistant Professor of Surgery and recently returned home to the Ochsner Health Network as a Breast Surgical Oncologist at Tansey Breast Center in New Orleans. Her specialty is breast surgical oncology and the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. Clinical interests include the surgical treatment of breast disease, nipple-sparing mastectomies, sentinel lymph node biopsies, young women with breast cancer, and quality of life after breast cancer treatment.
