Dr. Crago's Care Philosophy

I am a board-certified general surgeon and surgical oncologist. My clinical practice is focused on the treatment of patients with soft tissue sarcomas of the chest, abdomen and extremities. As a member of the Sarcoma Disease Management Team, I work closely with members of the pathology, radiation oncology, and medical oncology departments. Together we draw on the vast experience of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center s sarcoma service to develop individualized treatment plans for each of our patients. My clinical and laboratory research focuses on understanding the reasons why sarcomas develop, why some tumors become increasingly aggressive, and why some patients are at increased risk for tumor recurrence and spread. With the assistance of grants from the American Society of Clinical Oncology and philanthropic funds, I hope that these studies will assist not only in improving our understanding of soft tissue sarcoma, but lead to the development of new treatment strategies for patients with this disease.

Dr. Crago was AMAZING!!!! She is a Dr. who is straight to the point and answered all questions. She diagnosed the cancer on the first visit and proceeded with the utmost professionalism. Surgery followed with the removal of a huge tumor that had attached to the kidney and within a few weeks life resumed back to normal. This was a little over one year ago and have had several follow up visits and still remain cancer free. Support staff and EVERYONE in the offices are truly professional and caring

She convinced me on taking chemotherapy, when she knew it would only work 20-40% of the time. I very reluctantly took the chemo, which resulted tumor to grow even faster and encased the adjacent vital nerve. As result a massive surgery had to be done to remove the tumor, and also good part of the femoral nerve. Left Rectus abdominal Muscle was also removed.
