Dr. Akhtar's bio

This content was provided by Dr. Akhtar "I am a Board Certified Physician in Family Medicine and Geriatric Medicine. I see patients age 18 and up. 60% of my patients are Geriatric patients. I am a primary care provider (PCP) for large number of patients. I usually have another physician and 3-5 nurse practitioners and PAs in my practice. I see patients in my out patients clinic, multiple hospitals, and nursing homes. Beside caring for my patients I am involved in public speaking for nurses and healthcare professionals to improve lives for seniors. I also attend senior fair and provide free vaccine and health screening for seniors. My goal is to keep my patients and families healthy, and keep the seniors out of hospitals and nursing homes. "

Care Philosophy

This content was provided by Dr. Akhtar "As a geriatrician, I believe in following a holistic approach to address physical, psychological, and social problems surrounding the patient and family. I consider the patient and the patient's family to be key members of the health care team, and I focus on and prioritize optimizing the quality of life and functional ability for my patients rather than seeking a definite cure."

Dr. Akhtar has this special way of dealing with older people. Every time I bring my parents she spends at least 30 to 40 minutes examining them, where as their previous doctor would not even spend 5 minutes.

My father is 89. He is always failing to measure blood pressure and sugar. Now Dr. Akhtar fitted him with a bracelet. It takes blood pressure every hour and send to doctors office. What wonderful device. Thanks to Dr. Akhtar

I love my doctor. Her office is so nice and clean. I hate doctor's offices in shopping strip next to tobacco shop or tinted massage parlors.

Her office is extraordinary. Her staff calls my parents every two weeks just to check on them, and their blood pressure, sugar, medicine. I never heard of this kind of service.
