Horrible experience with Dr. Shimer. He was quick to get through the appointment and didn't really offer any significant advice. I will not use him again.

Looked at my xray, then said that previous surgeons had done a fine job fusing my spine. Later stated to his student that the reason he was behind (I assume of his patients to be seen), was due to the number of questions I asked). I have acute bilateral pinched nerves (diagnosed by MRI). In my opinion, due to the difficulty of my presentation, this physician did not want any part of dealing with my spine.

Dr. Shimer's Care Philosophy

When appropriate I always begin care with focused, evidenced-based nonoperative care of spinal conditions. If nonoperative care fails to provided adequate, durable relief and a surgical procedure in indicated I employ less-invasive (including non-fusion technology) techniques to provide the necessary treatment.
