Phoenix, AZ |
I had both hips replaced. The first replacement was great, the second, not so much. I came out of 2nd surgery in the most excruciating pain that never left. My L5-S1 fusion was damage requiring the implant of a spinal chord stimulater. Rather than determine the source(s) of pain, I was referred to the pain clinic for injections (which did not work long-term). Two years later I am still hobbling around with sciatic pain, lower back pain and pain from scared iliopsoas tendon.

I had a disseminated Valley Fever infection in my knee joint, which is a complicated and serious issue. Dr. Schwartz knew exactly what needed to be done, and has been fantastic about talking things through with me during the whole process (which has been several years now). He always made sure I understood everything, answered all my questions, and I really felt like I was a part of the decision-making process. The TKR he did is a specific, cutting-edge type of knee replacement. I am grateful.
