I had an appointment to have a thyroid biopsy scheduled on May 11th after waiting 5 weeks to have this procedure. I have a family history of thyroid issues so naturally I was looking forward to having this over with. The day of the surgery we were stuck in traffic about 1 mile away and I called to let them know we were around the next block. I was told the Doctor "is not even here" to see you and his schedule was changed. The staff then booked me out another 5 weeks. I find this unprofessional, uncaring, and unacceptable practice. I have no confidence in a physician that allows for no notice of cancellations the week or even a day before. I will need to find another doctor. PGA -RESIDENT

I made the appointment based on a referral from our primary physician. My Dr. needed Dr. Kurtain to review ultrasound results. Before coming to the appointment I asked if patients were allowed to bring an advocate with them. After signing in, one of the nurses opened the door from the back and said all visitors needed to wait outside. Living in Florida in the mid afternoon temperatures are well over 90 degrees. Before leaving the office, my advocate explained that it was supposed to be noted that I could bring someone in with me. She was told to wait outside and they would call. As I sat in the waiting room I watched how the family members coming in were treated. One mother who was there with her daughter explained that due to her daughters brain injury, she too needed to be with her. She was also told no. I understand that we are having a pandemic. Unfortunately people are also in crisis with their own health issues non Covid related. Honesty I was not expecting the unprofessionalizm.

This dr Was late 4 hours for my first surgery. The second surgery he placed a port which was placed wrong and too deep to gain access. My arm and location of port became swollen and lots of blood clots formed I called his office 3 times advising of pain and that arm and fingers were swollen and I was in a lot of pain. I never received a call back. I was rushed by ambulance to ER and remained in hospital for over a week because of severity of blood clots caused from his placement of port. He still never called me 3 months later. Use this dr at your own risk.

Super highly recommend, I had a robot assisted sigmoid colectomy in May 2019. It went way better than I expected. Dr. Kurtin and staff where so nice and Professional at what they do. I recovered fast and back on my feet just hours after surgery, for me with very little pain. I was and still so amazed at the recovery time after such an operation by Dr. Kurtin. Thanks Dr. Kurtin and staff for being there from consultation to the follow ups after surgery. “Great Team”

I recently had a very positive experience with Dr. Adam Kurtin at Treasure Coast Surgical Specialists. I was taken in right away and first met with Dr. Hernandez, a resident who is doing a rotation there. My wife is anxious about my impending procedure and he made her feel at ease. Dr. Kurtin came in shortly after and gave and extremely detailed description of what needs to be done in terms that we could understand. He didn't rush us through the process and answered all of our questions.

What a wonderful man, My 91 year old mother was under his care for 2 weeks at SLMC. He was not aggressive and tried his best to help us avoid surgery. After 3 days of still having issues he performed abdominal surgery. He was in and out of the OR as quickly as he could and came directly to the recovery room to speak with me. He is a kind, caring, compassionate healthcare professional.. As a RN myself I attest to his character.
