Dr. Farris' bio

This content was provided by Dr. Farris "Dr. Farris grew up in West Virginia and obtained his undergraduate degree from Marshall University. He went on to West Virginia University for medical school and then made his way to Birmingham to complete his residency in Anesthesiology and his Interventional Pain fellowship at UAB. Dr. Farris' interest in pain management started in medical school, but it was really in his residency that he was able to see the profound impact that sound interventional techniques and procedures can have on a person's quality of life."

Care Philosophy

This content was provided by Dr. Farris "During his time in residency and fellowship, Dr. Farris had the opportunity to work with a variety of patients suffering from both acute and chronic pain, including postoperative pain, back pain, neck pain, chronic regional pain syndrome, and neuropathic issues. Throughout training, a resounding belief that has stuck with him is that of multimodal therapy for chronic pain. Medications, interventions, physical therapy, pain psychology, and adjuvant therapies all play an integrative role in improving a patient's pain control, functionality, and overall mental and physical health."
