The 1st time the Dr met me he wanted to operate on me, when my previous Provider (I relocated) told me I did not need surgery. I am I HCP, and asked to see my films, and the films did not support his decision. In addition, The Provider, used the rest room and did not wash his hands as I was was waiting to use the restroom.

My wife was having hip pains, we scheduled a consultation appointment with Dr. Hofmann. We found him to be abrupt and at times rude in our opinion. He seemed impatient in answering questions. After a rather brief examination and discussion, he was ready to schedule hip surgery without even asking us if we wanted him to do the surgery. When asked in a non-threatening manner about his applicable experience and impatient manner, he became irritated, offered a very brief answer and abruptly left the room saying we were done. My understanding is that he is an excellent surgeon. However, if you want an understanding and compassionate doctor I suggest you go elsewhere. The above are simply my opinions and I see other reviews in which his patients seem very satisfied with him. Perhaps this suggests that a good rapport needs to be established between doctor and patient for a positive outcome. Good rapport may revolve around the compatibility of the doctor's and patient's personalities.

Dr. Hofmann replaced both of my knees three months apart in 2009. He got me out of pain and I have been able to be very active since. Just this last month, Dr. Hofmann replaced my left hip. I am healing well and I expect to have a very successful outcome. Again, Dr. Hofmann got me out of pain and assured me that I would be ready to take a trip to Europe 10 weeks after my hip replacement. I have referred 100 patients to Dr. Hofmann, a very skilled and capable surgeon. Thank you Dr. Hofmann

I love the way he cares for me and my worries. I am very analytical and was scared when I first went in to see him. He put me at ease and got me out of pain! Six years later and I am recommending Dr. Hofmann to my father for his hip and knee surgery. I'd recommend him to anyone who may be a bit of a perfectionist who wants the best, because this man is the best! Thanks again, Doc! :)

Dr. Hofmann re-constructed a shattered femur and saved my leg in 1986. This past year I developed severe hip pain and was pleasantly surprised to find he was still practicing. He and his partner Dr. Schaeffer removed the old hardware and replaced my right hip. He was also able to restore an inch of length that my leg lost during the healing process 30 years ago so that I no longer limp. Dr. Hofmann has a great manner with patients and I highly recommend him.

I spent maybe 15 minutes with Dr. Hofmann throughout the course of my surgery and recovery. I never knew who I would see when I went to the office. Everyone was nice but I always felt rushed. I tried to think of all the questions to ask, but felt as though they should be anticipating what info I needed had they gotten to know me & my lifestyle. Because they do this day in and day out, I think they forget what a difficult experience this is for someone who has never had surgery before.
