This content was provided by Dr. Altenburg "Dr Altenburg was born and raised in Oregon. He attended Willamette University in Salem Oregon, and received a bachelor's degree in biology and chemistry, graduating with various distinctive awards. He received his MD degree from Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, Oregon, graduating magna cum laude. In 2002-2007 he performed his Orthopedic Surgical Residency at University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics. From 2007-2008, he performed a fellowship in adult lower extremity reconstruction at the distinguished Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota. He was the recipient of the Coventry Distinguished Fellow Award and worked with the top joint replacement surgeons in the country Dr. Altenburg is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons as well as the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons. He has lived in Pocatello since 2008 where he has had a private orthopedic practice and currently is a partner at OrthoIdaho. His orthopedic focus is on the treatment of first hip and knee replacements as well as the treatment of infection and complex hip and knee revision replacement surgeries. Dr. Altenburg is also well known among his peers and travels the across the US and even the world teaching about different surgical techniques and surgery efficiencies. Recently he has traveled to Thailand, New Zealand and Switzerland where he was able to perform real time surgeries for hundreds of other orthopedic surgeons to observe. He enjoys the Idaho outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and rodeo events. He loves spending time with his family. Dr. Altenburg is married and has 2 children."

I specialize in total hip replacements, total knee replacements, uni or partial knee replacement and difficult revision hip and revision knee replacements. I just received my billing today for a x-ray that Dr. Altenburg's office said I had to get since my last x-ray was past 6 months.
