I am a teacher that was injured at work and was referred to Dr. Lyon after being in constant pain for over a year. He listened, had a thorough work up done, and told me of my options in clear details. I must say that I am very grateful to Dr. Lyons' for his practiced motto of doing his best. Due to his expertise and dedicated staff, I feel like I can see the light to a healthier me. I highly recommend Dr. Lyons.
in Clinton, MS |
Dr. Lyons has performed many procedures on my low back and I would highly recommend him to anyone needing help with pain management. His NP and other staff are also great. Really good doctor.
in Ridgeland, Ms. |
Dr. Lyons has treated me twice (2 different issues) over a 10 year period, and my returning to him was because I felt that he listened and treated me accordingly. The outcome the first time gave relief and I'm so hoping for the same results this time. I appreciate his attention and felt that I was receiving the best possible treatment.
in Brandon, MS |
I saw Dr Lyons and LeLouise Davis NP yesterday. They were both wonderful, possess great assessment /diagnostic skills, and wonderful caring bedside manners. Their entire staff was very attentive, kind and helpful through out the entire process. I am at home today resting from my procedure; and I can say that I am 90 percent improved after my first cervical epidural steroid injection and occipital nerve block. I am so thankful for their help and my pain relief. I highly recommend them.

I will never go to Dr. Lyons again. He was rude and disrespectful. He advised me that I had misled him about where my pain was and that I was just over weight. He did not listen to me nor did his nurse practitioner when I tried to describe my pain. He looked at the MRI and mad an assumption. He advised that I take 2 Tramadol 3-4 times a day! If I did this I would be high all day! the Tramadol does not even help with the pain. His staff was kind, but he is a jerk!
This is a misrepresentation from one who had seen multiple physicians and nurse practitioners before referral to our clinic. I am professional and polite, but honest and tell a patient if they are at least fifty to sixty pounds over ideal weight. She wanted a quick fix and I explained we could not quickly fix her issues. Daily exercise, Physical therapy, healthy diet, and non-opioid therapies are best for diffuse musculoskeletal pain in extremely obese individuals. I explained everything to her.
Brandon, MS |
Staff was great! That's all that was. Under treatments treated Fibro was listed, but when I seen Dr. Lyons he came into the room like he already had his mind made up before he seen me and told me straight up "He did not believe in Fibro". He talked down to me and made me feel like I had nothing wrong with me. He said if "I cant see in in a blood test I don't believe in it".. Would not recommend him for any autoamuine disease.. His Nurse Practioner was great though.....
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Daily Exercise, Physical Therapy, and non-opioid therapies are indicated for Fibromyalgia. Go to www.stdom.com/pain-management. "Fibromyalgia" is NOT listed in our website, nor in our brochure. We DO treat "Musculoskeletal Pain" with a interdisciplinary team approach. Again, this individual misrepresented our evaluation and we made appropriate recommendations. Unfortunately, there are no quick fixes for the Fibromyalgia Syndrome and Musculoskeletal Pain.

Dr. Lyons says...

Dr. Lyons grew up along the Coast in Biloxi MS. When he is not engaged in his passion of "Medical Detective" work in identifying and effectively managing painful and debilitating conditions, he enjoys visiting extended family along the MS Coast. Often he can be found returning to those "secret fishing holes" shared during his youth with his father, searching out speckled trout and redfish. He and his wife enjoy hiking out West in the mountains of Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. When not hiking, he enjoys fly fishing for trout in the over 2,000 miles of prime trout streams in Montana and Wyoming.

Dr. Lyons continues to serve as a Senior second-level Reviewer for Pain Medicine, chosen by the State of Mississippi Workers' Compensation Commission. He is admired for his balanced, honest, and up-to-date analysis and recommendations for diagnosis and appropriate treatment. All of his patients, irrespective of insurance coverage, receive care via the principles of Evidence-Based Medicine and Best Medical Practices.

When not working, hiking with his wife, spending time with their Assistant District Attorney daughter in Brooklyn or PhD candidate son at U of GA in Athens GA, Dr. Lyons also enjoys cycling the many bike trails in Rankin and Madison counties to maintain his physical stamina and remain an example of "good health" for his patients, clinical/surgical staff, and physician colleagues.
