Giovanna Paredes's Biography — Dr. Giovanna Paredes is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She provides personalized care centered on treating the whole person rather than solely their condition. Having lived and trained in many countries, she has a multicultural approach to medicine that is sensitive to different communities. She has been an integral part of Dr. Sullivan’s practice for over 10 years. Dr. Paredes obtained her medical degree from UMSA/UNAM and completed her residency program at the Hospital General de Mexico, and received a competitive scholarship to obtain a master’s degree in immunology focused on the immunology of psoriasis. She has a Master’s in Advanced Family Nurse Practitioner from Florida International University and serves as a preceptor for both the University of Miami Postgraduate Nursing Science and Florida International University. Dr. Paredes has been a sub-investigator for many of Dr. Sullivan’s clinical trials testing new dermatology medicines for FDA approval. When she is not in the office, she can be found scuba diving, taking Zumba, and spending time with her children who attend MAST.
