This experience has given him an appropriate foundation for the administration of anesthesia and pain control for patients in our private practice. Few surgeons in the country have completed this additional training. Dr. Jamali started his career as a general dentist and dedicated 9 years to patient care. However, he took his career a step further and decided to become a surgeon. He completed 1 year of surgical internship at Downstate Medical Center and 4 years of residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Kings County Hospital Center in Brooklyn, New York, which is one of the largest level one trauma centers in the country. During his residency he received extensive training which included rotations through internal medicine, anesthesia, general surgery/trauma, plastic surgery and otolaryngology.
