Biography: Having lived here in Cache Valley for the past few years, he can't imagine being anywhere else. He is married with five kids (four boys and a lone girl) and they are just as in love with the mountain west as him. If he is not working you can likely find him outside doing a variety of activities. He loves to hike, fish, hunt, ski, mountain bike, and explore the mountains that surround our home here Cache Valley. He is a member of the Beaver Mountain Ski Patrol as one of their doctors and spends most free Saturdays skiing (and snowboarding!!) with his family there. After serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Rome, Italy he went on to finish his undergrad in Biomedical Science at Texas A&M and a master's degree in Health Policy and Management. He loved his version of Aggieland (Texas A&M Aggies) so much he completed medical school there as well. He finally left Texas to finish his OBGYN residency training at the University of Nebraska in Omaha. While there, he served as a Chief Resident and was trained in all aspects of OBGYN care. His research examined guidelines to reduce the rate of cesarean rates for first time moms. He takes that to heart as he treats each OB patients. He cares for a variety of pregnancy types from the uncomplicated first pregnancy to the complicated high risk types. The ability to work through both Logan Regional and Cache Valley Hospital make it easy to provide the right level of care to each of his patients in a personalized manner. Pregnancy often brings a number of unforeseen obstacles and he works with patients to overcome those on their terms. He is one of a few surgeons in Cache Valley that was trained to use the Da Vinci Robotic system for surgery. He is able to offer many procedures in a minimally invasive format that many times would require larger incisions and higher levels of blood loss. Recovery is quicker and pain is lessened with this approach. Many patients go home the same day instead of spending increased time in the hospital overnight.
