Biography: Dr. Cook was born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1968 and then moved to London, England as a young child. At the age of 8, his family moved to Westport, Connecticut where he spent the majority of his pre-collegiate life. In 1986, he graduated from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana with a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in biology and a minor in studio art and sculpture. After receiving a full scholarship and teaching assistantship, Dr. Cook remained at Tulane University where he graduated with a Master of Science degree in cellular and molecular biology. In 1996, Dr. Cook earned his Medical Doctorate at the Tulane University Medical School with acceptance into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Following his medical degree, Dr. Cook undertook his general surgery internship and neurosurgical residency at the University of Maryland Medical System in Baltimore, Maryland and graduated in 2002. Since that time, Dr. Cook has been in private neurosurgical practice and relocated to Austin, Texas in 2014 where he remains a partner at Central Texas Brain & Spine (CTBS).
