I came to Dr. Simons a couple of years ago when I found out I was pregnant. I had some concerns because I had previously had a C-section with my last child, and I felt like I missed out on a lot of things. I talked with her about my options of having a vbac, etc. Unfortunately, despite her being ok with performing vbacs, it was hospital policy that they weren't allowed to.
However, I talked to her about how if that wasn't possible, then I had been doing some research and was really interested in having skin to skin contact immediately after the C-section as long as the baby was ok, instead of having it whisked away for shots and tests, so that we could immediately bond. She liked that idea and even picked up the phone to call her nurse to talk to her about it. I was thoroughly impressed that she listened to my concerns and seemed like she really cared about my experience.
Unfortunately, my pregnancy ended in miscarriage, so I never got to experience any of the things we talked about. Even through the miscarriage and DNC process, she was incredibly caring and compassionate during that painful and emotional time. If you want someone who really cares about YOU, I highly recommend Dr. Simons for anyone who is expecting.
