Review of Dr. Downer

- |

Anything hip related that you have Dr. Downer is the guy to see! I had a more rarer surgery performed on my hip by Dr. Downer known as a periacetabular osteotomy (PAO). This surgery is very is very very in depth and major. With this surgery you have to stay in the hospital for a few days after surgery. Dr. Downer visited me every day to check in and see how I was doing. He is a very likable person who is also very professional. He is always willing to answer any questions you may have and answers them until your questions are answered. After my surgery I was very down and wondering how I was going to get through this. Dr. Downer eased my mind and ensured me that things can only get better from here. Dr. Downer is very skilled and knowledgeable about his profession, and anyone can tell you that just by having a conversation with him. Dr. Downer is the only one I would ever trust to operate on my hip again, but I can’t imagine that being the case because he did so well the first time!

Review of Dr. Peterson II

- in Kent, WA |

Dr. Peterson is a surgeon that actually listens to his patients. He just doesn't rely on xrays and MRI results only but he listens to the patient describe their quality of life due to their condition. I had partial knee replacement done at their surgical center in Walingford. Was impressed with the surgical team. They took very good care of me and my husband was extremely impressed with their surgical unit. My recovery is going well and I'm already walking with slight use of a cane 2 weeks post op. I saw 4 different surgeons before I went for a second opinion with Dr. Peterson. I was so impressed by Dr. Peterson, I chose him to do my surgery over the other surgeons.

Dr. Downer has replaced both of my hips. He is professional, easy to talk to and the best surgeon in Washington doing the anterior procedure. Highly recommended.

Review of Dr. Peterson II

Dr. Peterson was excellent for my spouse's total knee replacement in 2015, but also for my knee replacement in June 2019. He listens to questions and concerns giving great advice and choices. He is non-judgmental. He was an easy choice for my knee workup and open to alternatives before my knee replacement surgery. He does surgery Swedish-Ballard campus which had great nursing care and follow through. My postop course recovery been steady and successful. I recommend Dr. Peterson and his team.

Review of Dr. Weil

- in Shoreline, WA |

Dr. Weil performed a carpal tunnel release (endoscopic) on my left hand earlier this month. The best surgery experience i have had in my 68 years, and I have had a number of orthopedic procedures. Last year I had an open release on my right hand with another doctor. Went well but with the open procedure you have a 1 inch incision, stitches can pull apart more easily, and recovery is a slower. With the closed procedure, I took 2 Aleve the morning after the surgery, and that was it. I was using the hand the next day and recovery has been much quicker than with the open procedure. The appointments were in Ballard, and the surgery in the Wallingford area. Access was good, easy parking, and everything was on time. I generally don't write reviews, but this whole experience was so overwhelmingly positive, I am making an exception. I highly recommend Dr. Weil.

Review of Dr. Shapiro

-

i had rotator cuff surgery performed by Dr. Shapiro. he was very informative and thoroughly explained the process and assured me if i had any complications in the future to contact him.. scott (PT) was also very good. he was very knowledgeable and explained what each routine does and kept me on track for recovery. he continually reminded me to go slow (i was impatient and wanted to get back to my normal routine quickly). the office staff were friendly and efficient too. the handouts were also very informative and thoroughly explained the process. i would recommend OSS to others.

Review of Dr. Shapiro

-

I had shoulder surgery and Dr Shapiro did an amazing job! He was always empathetic and never made me feel like he was rushed for time. I saw another orthopedic doc for over a year and he never figured out what was wrong with me...but Dr Shapiro wasted no time in diagnosing my problem. I highly recommend Dr Shapiro!

Review of Dr. Weil

-

Dr. Weil helped me recover from a broken hand over the period of about 2-3 months. Over the course of my injury healing, I had several visits with him. Each experience with him went very well. As an anxious person who was very new to these experiences, Dr. Weil always made sure that he answered all of my questions and that I had no worries. He made it clear that I understood what was happening and what my options were. Also very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend.

Had great luck with hand, wrist and elbow surgery. The procedures were simple and with little pain. We arrived early for surgery and post op and both times we were taken in early with virtually no wait time. Staff is very efficient and attentive.
