Hematology and Oncology

Anne has been an integral part of my oncology-related care for the past five years, and I have been very pleased with my experience. Her medical expertise, ability to listen to my thoughts, and effective advice have been important components of my improved quality of life. I feel very strongly about highly recommending her to any and all patients.

I have had an ultra-rare cancer for the past 4 years. I have specialists at Dana Farber, Mass General (both of my specialists are program directors at Harvard Medical School), Memorial Sloan Kettering in NYC AND UVMC, Dr. Alissa Thomas. To say she is an amazing, resourceful, compassionate, qualified, caring, and intune physician, is not only an understatement but almost belittling. I am very much in charge of my healthcare. I shop for the best of the best and simply overlooked what was literally in my back yard. Dr. Thomas cares for not only me but my whole family. She is incredibly compassionate, something that seems to disappearing from our healthcare system. She cares about me and how my illness and treatment affects my family. I am not just a number to her, and if I am you would never know it. It’s not about rushing me in or out, it’s about explaining everything and making sure I understand it. Do yourself a favor, reach out to her!

Dr. Plante is thorough and respects the patient's ability to comprehend their medical status when informed of their test results and examination. He answers questions succinctly and is comprehensive in evaluation. I love to see young doctors with the ethical and professional qualities of Dr. Plante. He instills confidence.

Dr. G does not instill a sense of confidence. He seems scattered and confused. He failed miserably in offering any closure when the patient went on hospice care.

We met Dr. Verschraegen for the first time yesterday for a second opinion on a Squamous Cell Carcinoma diagnosis. We had a very positive first impression of her and her entire Nursing staff. All were professional and very respectful. I think my mom is in good hands, and I'm glad we found such an experienced medical team for her treatment.

Dr. Sprague is a very good blood oncologist. He specializes in blood cancer and knows as much about Multiple Myeloma as my specialist at Dana Farber in Boston. He actually serves me even better because he knows me well as a patient. He explains everything really well and is very caring and very knowledgeable about various treatments available. I would highly recommend this doctor.
