He is extremely attentive and eat to talk to. He seems very non-judgemental and seems to truly want to help.
Really not a very good doctor; he knows the minimum but does not go the full distance required for patients. I believe there have to be better docs out there. I have had at least three experiences in which he failed to do the (by law) required things for me, his patient, including prescribing medicine before he went away on holiday, explaining pertinent details about dangerous medicines, etc. In sum he is below par.
Pumphrey will refuse to work with you if you have any substance use background. I went for chronic depression and was refused treatment based on his opinion that I had abused substances in the past and still drink a glass of wine a day. He told me after an hour, I can't work with you. I had looked forward to this appointment for 6 weeks hoping for some help for my depression. I've never before been refused services by a so called doctor.
He is a good and thorough doctor who takes his time with patients. He is caring and a good psychiatrist.
My experience with Dr. Jane has not been a rewarding one. Not slipping into a full blown Manic episode would be the one good thing I have gotten out of it. Most of the time is spent talking about my job security and money rather then my illness. I had a panic attack one day at work and left on shift, losing my job, because I was unable to get my lithium for four days because of a clerical error. When I brought this up, without even looking at me he said mistakes happen.
