Worst oncologist in Houston. I can’t believe he hasn’t been sued for malpractice

Review of Dr. Smaglo

- in Annapolis, MD |

Dr. Smaglo was my wife’s Oncologist and his care of and for her was outstanding. He was quick to communicate both day, night and weekends. He explained everything in ways we could understand and he was very compassionate. He made my wife, me and our family feel like my wife was his only patient. On his way to the airport to start his life in Houston, he called me to wish my wife well and to answer any questions I might have. I cannot say enough good things about this amazing man.

Review of Dr. Smaglo

My mother moved to Houston for treatment for Pancreatic cancer. MD Anderson would not treat her because she had too many co-morbidity issues. I contacted Baylor Clinic who in turn, assigned her to Dr. Smaglo. We met him last week for the first time. He spent an hour with us explaining everything in detail. We were very impressed. We are in the right place, for sure!

Review of Dr. Smaglo

My husband was referred to Dr Smaglo when he diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, while in the hospital. He has since been treated by him for a couple of months. Dr Smaglo has always taken the time to explain not only the treatment plan but why that was the plan. Never has he walked out without asking if we had any questions & when we did, he patiently explained the answers. He takes some time to talk on a personal level. We appreciate his honest frank answers in this confusing time.

Review of Dr. Smaglo

-New York, NY |

Extremely responsive, calm, thorough. I never feel rushed. He always takes the time to answer questions and seems to be very empathetic. He gives you the facts; but not in a way that gives you no hope. We could be a little more progressive in recommending alternatives to dealing with symptoms. We would highly recommend to friends and family.

Review of Dr. Smaglo

-Rockville, MD |

I didn't feel he was interested in us as patients. He was always rushing, and moving on to the next patient. He was courteous, but never empathetic, or compassionate, and did not seem sincere. In his line of work , we always thought this was important. We didn't get that from him. If you want a person who will tell you the facts about your illness, he's the person, if you want something more, who really understands his patients, he is not. I would not recommend him.

Review of Dr. Sosa

- in Houston, TX |

Dr. Sosa took the time to walk me through my results number by number and make sure I had a proper understanding of each. I never felt rushed and felt she was genuinely interested and cared during our dialogue.
