Review of Dr. Ilahi

-Rosharon, TX |

I have a lot of experience with Dr. Ilahi and his abilities as a Surgeon. He has performed four Orthoscopic surgery's on me over the past 15 years. The most recent was in March of this year. The results were outstanding. He operated on my right knee to remove torn cartilage. Prior to surgery the pain was so bad I could barely get around. Afterwards I was playing Golf three weeks removed from Surgery! I have the utmost respect for DR. Ilahi as a Surgeon and as an individual.

I have Systemic Lupus. It went undiagnosed for years. After the joint pain and inflammation started, Dr. Ilahi was the first person I went to. The scans showed "remarkable inflammation and scarring" yet, he sent me out without even an anti-inflammatory. I was treated like a drug seeker. I didn't want pain meds, just answers. Got them 2 years later after my condition continued to deteriorate. I found the right doctor to run the right tests. Dr. Ilahi could have done something.

Review of Dr. Ilahi

I had two underlying causes for my pain. Since he did not accurately diagnose one of the causes, due to repeated re-use of an unhealed body part the pain became Chronic. I was very insistent during the visit that the treatment is ineffective because It still hurts. But the doctor dismissed my concern. The doctor was very patient while hearing me out but not sure he was actually listing to me. I am still dealing with the pain and currently getting treatment with another doctor.

I tore my lateral and medial meniscus. Dr. Ilahi gave me my options and I chose to have knee arthroscopy surgery. I was very nervous given my age but Dr. Ilahi spent a lot of time with me answering my questions and explained in detail what to expect before, during, and after procedure. He did not pressure me into having surgery which I really appreciate at. I am so glad I decided to have the surgery with Dr. Ilahi because I am able to do all of my normal activities and travel more.

I have seen Dr Ilahi several times. My most recent visit was because I was experiencing shoulder pain. While I do need surgery, he did offer some alternatives to see if the pain would be more tolerable without having to do the surgery right away. I received an injection and it has helped quite a bit. I appreciate the time he took to make sure I understood my options. The staff was also very helpful letting me know that if it started to bother me that I could call and get another injection.

I had a terrible experience. Dr. Ilahi was intimidating, unwilling to let me complete a sentence without interruption and rude. I didn't feel like he was listening. I went to him as my walking was painful and I wasn't able to enjoy golf, tennis or just walking around doing daily chores. Although he did order Xrays and treated one knee. I left the appointment with a sense that I had wasted his precious time and was treated very unprofessional. I can't recommend him at all.

Dr Ilahi tends to be very rude and does not like to answer questions regarding the treatment. We in fact changed provider.
