Dr.Ball began my pain management in the year 2000. He has over the years treated me with several different procedures and medications. In the twenty-two years my condition has grown, but at each step of the way he has stepped in and helped. Of course I would prefer to be seen by him verses a NP, but I understand he is only human and can only be spread so thin. A wonderful addition to his practice is Dr.Arion Smalley, he too is very thorough, kind and really listens to his patients. I wish it were possible that all of the NP's under both these gentlemen could be trained directly and observed by them, so all the patients would receive the same quality of care. My best wishes and prayers are for these men, that they continue to be the answer, that so many of us pray for, in dealing with life changing pain.

Dr Smalley is by far the best pain specialist I have ever had. It's rare these days to find a Dr. in this field that has compassion and knowledge Dr Smalley has both in abundance. It is my sincere hope he will be my doctor for as long as I need treatment.

She is a fine doctor. I had huge expectations when referred to her. I am a bit frustrated at long delays in scheduling and getting calls back. I will stick with her no matter what.

Dr. Ball has been treating my pain from 6 years of Lymphoma cancer treatments. Because of his knowledge and abilities, he is able to keep me from having to live a life on Fentanyl and Morphine through this nerve burnings and freezing procedures. They are amazing and I have not felt this good in 15 years of dealing with constant intense pain. I can't imagine still living as a shell of my existence on those drugs. They are bandaids, yet he has long term relief and I am so very grateful for him and his staff. They are always kind and professional. I would recommend him to ANYONE searching to get off pain pills. He has the answers!!

Dr. Kaplan performed an ablation on my lower back in January, 2022. I've fought back issues for many years and my quality of life has been on the decline due to back pain from arthritis. I'm a lifelong golfer but have played very few rounds in the last eight years as my back pain would flair up. Some rounds were only three holes due to the pain. My back pain was continuous and hampered me in every day activities as well. Since Dr. Kaplan's procedure, my back pain is almost always totally gone. If I do have pain from sitting in a car or sitting at home, it goes away when I get up and move around. I am now playing golf with very little to zero pain. Some days I feel absolutely no pain at all. The procedure was comfortable as I was semi asleep. Recovery hurt a little, but just for a week or so. This was such a great thing for me that I felt the need to pass it on to others. Dr. Kaplan is wonderful and has given me my life back. Thank you so much Dr. Kaplan. God Bless you.

Dr. Kaplan gets 5 stars from me and her scheduler gets a 0 and that gets Dr. Kaplan a 3. I'm told that I must get two test shots to satisfy my insurance company before I get my ablation. I get my first and I'm told that I must get approval from my insurance to get the second. Why? I MUST get two. After a month my insurance company say they have not received a request for an approval and I have not heard from the scheduler. Regardless of the time of day she will not answer her phone or return a message. This is my second ablation and is a repeat problem as the first. The surgical staff are great but the administrative staff need to be reviewed by Dr. Kaplan.

I had they the Ablation (RFA) on 6 nerves in my back . I was expecting to be in pain the next day . So far I’m doing great. I must have been in so much pain before the procedure that now I’m not hurting.

As I’ve previously written, Dr. Ball is amazing! He is warm, friendly, kind, compassionate, understanding, easy to talk to, giving, wanting to help relieve his patients pain,, period! He wants to help, his warm spirit is felt every time he walks in the room. Just a very comforting sweet spirit and you know , you trust, you believe with all of your heart that he is going to help you. I have suffered for four years now with daily facial nerve pain. Trigeminal Neuralgia and neuropathy that keeps me from being able to work, and live life. I’ve seen 16 different specialist from neurosurgeons to ENT doctors over the last four years. I’ve had 2 brain surgeries and multiple painful test after another and nothing has helped me. Dr. Ball started helping me on day 1 . He scheduled injections and worked hard with appeals to my insurance company. His nurses have as well. On day 1! I didn’t have to call and beg and wait for anything to be done, they were on it from day 1. They are all a God send.

I would give a zero if it was an option. She is a naturalist and didn’t listen to me or help me. She was condescending, rude, and I left crying the 2 times I saw her. I was treated like a drug seeker which I am not. I would never recommend her to anyone.

Dr. Ball has a great bed side manner, seems compassionate and truly interested in helping you. Will explain throughly, makes you feel very at ease before procedures. I don’t know how much to emphasize he is one of the best doctors I have! Might be because he actually helps relieve my pain. He normally does 2-3 procedures a year If I could see him at pain Management other than a NP, that would be my choice! I see him in surgery days only. He is awesome!

Dr. Ball helped me start a pain medication that relieved a majority of my pain. However, he also performed the MILD Procedure on three levels of my lumbar which removed 99% of my pain. He knows what he is doing and so does his staff. Dr. Ball is ahead of all other pain doctors in the Chattanooga Area. A++, He actually saved my life.
