I can't believe this doc has any stars. Zero compassion. Hopelessly disinterested. Completely disregarded my complaints of contintuing pain.
When I finally switched to a different physician in the practice, not 1 but *3* RNs cheered me on with one stating that she secretly (or not so secretly) hopes that he experiences chronic, severe pain some day. So he might regret his utter disregard for his patients.
It became crystal clear why he had immediate appointment availability.
I loved Dr. Kager! His personality is professional and kind. He took the perfect amount of time to explain his decision and why, was so sweet to my little girl (who came with me.) He seemed appreciative of all the work I had done prior to seeing him, and I respect him as a neurosurgeon! This man is a good doctor! :)
Spinal fusion went well ! Dr Kager was wonderful and LGH was best hospital experience I've ever had !
I would scarcely recommend Kager to my worst enemy, never mind to a family member or friend. You are a number, not a person at Lancaster NeuroScience. You are shuttled thru the process like so much chattel, but at least you get a T-shirt. (Yeah, really.) If this is what surgeons have become in this country, then I am very disheartened. I saw this guy for all of 8 minutes for pre-surgical consult BUT DID NOT see or talk to him afterward. My next app't w/ him is in about a month. Yay. Do not use!!
I CAN NOT SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT DR. KAGER. BOTH MY HUSBAND AND MYSELF HAVE HAD BACK SURGERY AND WE ARE BOTH PAIN FREE AND DOING WELL. HE IS EASY TO TALK WITH, CARING AND KIND. WE WOULD RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE. HE IS A FINE SURGEON WHO REALLY CARES ABOUT YOU. HE IS THE BEST
GOD BLESS YOU DR.KAGER FOR HELPING US TO BE PAIN FREE
Dr Thurmond, has a very poor bedside manner. He was dismissive and would not discuss any resolution to my problem. Referred by a Neurologist after having an EMG test that was diagnosed as a pinched nerve. Dr Thurmond, was 99% sure there was no pinched nerve. I asked what I should do, he had no suggestion nor did he examine me. " If it will make you happy" I'll order an MRI. Another surgeon did confirm with an xray and the MRI I have a pinched nerve. and need spinal fusion.
Very caring and dedicated physician. Took her time to explain the procedure and possible complications. During the surgery, called to waiting area to reassure my family that all was well and returned later that evening to check on my condition. I couldn't have asked for a better surgeon to handle my serious medical condition.
Dr. Thurmond performed a double spinal fusion and decompression surgery to correct a slipped vertebrae and compressed nerve in my lumbar spine. Years of low back pain has greatly improved and the severe nerve pain down the leg is finally gone. He and his team were very attentive during recovery in the hospital and for all follow-up appointments, as well. I was treated with the utmost respect and care by Dr. Thurmond, his assistant Jaclyn and the other members of his team.
I was actually miserable from my back problem before seeing Dr Monacci. He performed a number of diagnostic tests and attempted conservative treatment before proceeding with surgery. When it became apparent to him that surgery was the best option, his expert skill and terrific care actually changed my life! I was able to resume my career pain free and medication free! Now, five and a half years later, thanks to Dr Monacci, I remain pain free and active, even using a rowing machine at the gym!
Excellent experience! Went through disc replacement surgery. From the first consult appointment, X-ray, MRI, surgery, recovery, hospital stay, physical therapy and follow-up appointment, it was an excellent experience. I highly recommend Dr. Thurmond if you are experiencing disc pain or issues.
Dr. Kager is confident and compassionate. Some people have called him arrogant, but I think that is off the mark. He obviously stays on top of developments in his field. I cannot imagine the pressure of rearranging someone's nervous system and playing legos with their spinal cord. Dr. Kager clearly knows the significance of what he is doing, and he stays on top of his game so that he can do it.
