Review of Dr. Sisti

- in Brooklyn, NY |

Dr. Sisti is a talented and highly experienced neurosurgeon who headed the team that performed my craniotomy to remove an acoustic neuroma. During my initial consultation with him, the time he spent explaining his own background, approaches to surgery, and possible scenarios for me was balanced by a warm, humane interest in me as a person and not just a patient. He is truly exemplary, and his colleagues clearly feel the same as his patients. My surgery was a resounding success.

A wonderful doctor, in all ways! I am most grateful to Dr. Sisti and his Gamma Knife team for the treatment of my acoustic neuroma. My doctor in Albany, NY referred me to Dr. Sisti; I feel most fortunate to have received this referral and to have been under Dr. Sisti's care. Here is a doctor with exceptional expertise and skill, a profound respect for medical research (both pioneering and present day), a wonderfully warm, caring way with his patients, and a very kind, helpful staff.

Dr. Sisti is an amazing surgeon and has a caring and confident approach that makes you feel at ease. He removed a very large acoustic neuroma from my brain via a crainiotomy. His whole team was amazing. He spent a lot of time with me explaining the surgery, reviewing scans and having follow up discussions. His office staff also jumped through hoops to get my pretty urgent surgery scheduled in less than a week and with post-op appts. I would highly recommend him.

I was going blind in one eye. Dr. Sisti told me the meningioma wrapped around my optic nerve & carotid artery would soon blind me. He said that surgery could save one of my eyes, and hopefully both, but he would not know until he looked inside. He saved both. 5 yrs later, the tumor returns. No surgery, now radiation treatment. Vision again returns. He has a lifetime of knowledge, bringing insight and skills to his practice.. I trusted him twice to save my quality of life would trust again

I was told I had an acoustic neuroma by my ENT. After interviewing a few neurologist from top notch hospitals and not feeling comfortable I was told by a friend about Dr Sisti. From the moment I walked in the door he put both my husband and myself at ease. He has the bedside manner you no longer see in the professional field. I knew right from the start I was in good hands. Dr. Sisti was incredible The surgery went beautifully and for brain surgery it really wasn’t so bad. Great Job Doc!

After a shocking diagnosis of two tumors on my brainstem and a cyst on the right side of my brain, we contacted Dr. Sisti after much research and recommendation. My local neurosurgeon gave me a dire prognosis, but Dr. Sisti reassured us that he had encountered tumors in this location before and would be able to operate safely. Our trust was well founded. An operation that could have left me paraplegic instead resulted in almost no complications. His staff is compassionate and efficient.

dr sisti was recommended to me by the doctor who helped save my sister's life with these words: " if there is a brilliant neurosurgeon who is a humanist and will help you make the right decision...it is dr sisti" these words rang true before, during, and after surgery to remove a large meningioma. it is rare to find a surgeon, brilliant in his skills, and generous in his human responsiveness.

I am exceptionally thankful for Dr. Michael Sisti’s surgical expertise, diagnostic precision, clarity of presentation and his compassionate care. I was impressed with him based on his education and experience with the most up to date technology to surgically remove a tumor and treat meningiomatosis, but upon meeting him, I knew I could trust him with my brain. It will be my pleasure to be under his watchful care for many subsequent years.
