I went through a few other endocrinologists in this area before finding Dr. Tobolsky, and he's by far the best one I saw. Many endocrinologists can be very cut and dry, and "This is what you need to do," and only look at test results, but not listen to how you feel. What I like about this doctor is that he actually listens to me. There are times where he will politely and gently push back, but he always wants to come up with a plan we're both happy with. He tells me all the time that it's important how I feel, and I need to be happy with my treatment plan, while also reacting to test results. He can be very direct sometimes, but I do believe that's a cultural difference, and I've always found him to be nothing but friendly and caring, and wanting what's best for you. Trust me, I've been to some horrible endocrinologist's - he's NOT one of them. Wait times are also minimal with him.

Shimon has always been very open and takes the time to explain concerns and results of tests. He has never made me feel like just a number and has never hurried me along like someone on an assembly line. He was like a detective assessing my symptoms and ordering the right tests to find out and diagnose me with hyperparathyroidism and was able to diagnose me with a parathyroid adenoma. After seeking help from others he was the only one to find out what was wrong. I was able to have a successful surgery and am so thankful to have found Shimon and a proper diagnosis before more side effects and damage to my system could have occurred. I would highly recommend him.

Visit was good. Follow up was horrible. I was told I would receive a phone call by at least the next day (if not that evening). The issue was that my prescription might need to be changed based on blood work that was done. As you might have already guessed...Yup...no phone contact, no email...nada. I called the following day and could only leave a message on the medical assistants vmail...I'm assuming she's the one who should have called and didn't. I left a message for the one who should have called and didn't. Makes sense to me. I called back and asked if I could leave a message for Dr. Cohen without going through the medical assistant and immediately was told "That's the only way" and was slammed right back into the medical assistants vmail. I haven't been feeling well for ages. It took me forever to make this appointment and I was so hopeful things would turn around. Now I'm feeling ill AND annoyed.

His idea of practicing medicine is to look at blood test results and compare results to mean. Lacks ability to look beyond numbers and engage in insightful diagnoses. Does not follow up with patients even under critical circumstances. Avoid this PA and go to a qualified doctor.

Does not adhere to patient bill of rights. Has a god like complex, does not liked to be questioned. He is unfeeling and show no compassion to the patient. I felt like I was on an assembly line being processed through.

Prior to Albany Medical Center taking over this office I had no issues with him or office. Now a different story, he does not like to get pre-approval from the insurance company and will only use synthetic thyroid meds(which do not cover T3 & T4 together causing issues, I have family and friends who suffer because of this so it was not for me plus I have chemical intolerances) and if you need other stuff he will complain and carry on about it to you, really unprofessional, he has done this to my face more than once and with a family member present as well, please take someone with you always. They also had a long time getting back to me and the lab on that day was awful, overbooked and stressed, the woman stabbed me and I hollered with pain, she walked away and came back and I addressed her about it, she said I was carrying on, really? So I said well could you please get me something for all the blood spilling out of my arm? She apologized and had to use the other arm, I left them.

One of the most thorough evaluations I have ever recieved, excellent listening and very compassionate, she left no stone unturned and I really feel like I got a very in depth evaluation and she was extremely kind and knowledgeable. I cant reccomend her or her office more highly. She was so patient with me!

Bill is the best PA I ever saw. Used him as my Primary at On Call for 20 years. He left the practice several years ago unfortunately. He is more knowlegable than most MD's I have met and has a great personality. I Highly recommend him

I have been going to Shimon Tobolsky for 3 years. he is a very meticulous, friendly PA. He makes sure everything is well with you and answers any questions you have. He discusses his findings with you in depth. He even walks you out to checkout :). Who could ask for more?

During the appointment he asked me to call the house RN which I didn’t mind. I asked him if there was a reason because if he had a question I probably could have answered. Not to mention I was calling on my private cellphone. He became very RUDE and said: I’ve asked to do it! Why would I ask you if it wasn’t a reason. I said: Did I miss something I don’t understand why you are being rude to me. He said : obviously there is a reason. So rude he cause my individual to cry. I would never recommend!

Shimon has been managing my Hashimoto's for over 2 years. I look forward to the appointments because I never feel rushed...that's hard to come by at any doctor's office. Shimon always listens and explains everything very well (in layman's terms). Very professional and always makes sure all questions and concerns are addressed. Wait time is also quite management, less than 15 mins most of the time.
