Fabulous bedside manner. She is very kind, caring and attentive. I saw a hematologist previously who was not well versed with my issue. Dr. Quintana, however, was familiar and comfortable treating me. I am so pleased. Highly recommend her.

In the last four months Ms Vandyke has been part of the team overlooking my cancer. She has seen me more than 15 times. Not once was Ms Vandyke rude. On the contrary. Always polite attentive and professional

Dr. Tarnower is highly insensitive, uncaring, and unprofessional. She was my fathers oncologist for a little over a month. My father suffered through pancreatic cancer while under the "care" of Dr. Tarnower. This woman is incredibly power hungry and she was constantly reminding my mother and I that she was doing us a favor by allowing us to see my father while he was on his death bed. She also has rapid mood swings, she pretends to be on your side when she is really doing the bare minimum when it comes to patient care. One day, she took out her anger on me by screaming in my face "your father has 12-24 hours to live and you need to realize that". While at UNMH, my father received almost inhumane "care". There were multiple times where I called the nurses station to get assistance in aiding my father in using the restroom. The nurse would answer the phone, ask what I needed, hang up on me without a response and never show up to help. I HIGHLY recommend finding care elsewhere.

Dr. T. Schroeder, has been a "God Send" for me. When I was diagnosis with Cancer he made sure I understood all my options and how they would effect me, made me feel like I mattered and thing will be all right. Dr. T Schroeder took the time to listen an after a hour in his examine room, he ask if my spouse and I could stay longer to talk as he had another patent to see and would be right back, need-list to say I chose Dr. Schroeder as my Oncologist, he gave and made sure I got the best treatments available. It's been more than two years ago when I did treatment, so now I see him every six months, he make sure not only my health is good but makes sure my all around well-being is good. I saw other Doctors and Specialist they were OK, but they treated me like I was a number, and my 15 minutes were up next patent. I can not tell how much Dr. Schroeder made feel comfortable and informed, his advise on what to do next and options, he was helpful in set with other Specialists.

He is my most excellent doctor who is thorough in his explanations of treatment options, always acknowledges the stresses of my condition and offers not only recommendations in terms of treatment but takes a whole body and mind approach leaving me always feeling hopeful. I know I am in good hands with Dr. Schroeder as exemplified in his success in treating my cancer. I take one day at a time and have more happy days knowing he and his staff have my best interests in mind. Courteous, reliable, experienced and yet a really sweet guy who makes me feel unbelievably comfortable during each encounter. I cannot imagine going through what I been trough without him!

Dr Lauer cares!! Really cares!! He always explained everything in detail. He chooses the best treatment based on the patient’s needs and not from some textbook. He is said to retire soon. I will miss him so much!! I drive 2 plus hours to office appoints and treatments. I am not young so have experienced several doctors since my diagnosis in 2006.

She was absolutely terrible rude and did not introduce herself. Condescending did not read my chart or know my history. Cut me off and was very short and did not go over my results. It was a 5m visit and she acted like she could not be bothered

Tumultuous at best. Dr Tarnour lacks the personality & sensitivity to be affective with severe diagnosis’. Twice she advised us that there was no hope for my son & was willing to allow him to stay at the hospital and wait to die because he appeared too weak. No apologies. She neglected to review his chart prior giving this disturbing information so blatantly. Had she looked, she would have discovered that he had just gone through rad therapy & was on morphine and oxycodone 24/7. Thus the cause of his lack of energy. Throughout his stay at UNMH it seemed as if she wanted him to die. This was noted in the medical record that she wanted the palliative group to be ready when (not if) he died and that she would not be available when it occurred. She never suggested alternative care, chemo, a referral or assistance for care elsewhere. She showed absolutely no compassion or urgency to keep my son alive. It was as if she didn’t want to be bothered with him. She stole my son’s hope!

Very professional and concerned doctor. I have confidence in his recommendations although since cancer is complex, a second opinion can be valuable. I believe that he keeps up with the latest medical developments and treatments in his practice areas. Very willing to explain things. Highly recommended.

His skill, along with the team he has trained to perfection, provided me with a good understanding of the procedure and the expected outcome. The follow-up care was very warm and friendly with lots of useful additional information. Thank you Dr. Shah!
