From the office visit to discharge and follow-up Dr. Rathje provided great to for our very elderly mother. He met her needs and our needs for care and information.

Unfortunately, Dr. Fallick did not end up fixing my problem. I explained my issue clearly to the nurse but when he came in, he refused to acknowledge it and instead spent the entire consultation talking about an incidental finding. He explained the incidental finding very clearly, but it was not what was causing my pain and discomfort. I scheduled a follow-up appointment and again I was doubted, and I was basically told to take a laxative for the rest of my life. However, he at least ordered another scan and spent additional time with me at the second appointment, which is why I am generously giving him 3 stars. I ended up going to an incredible UNMC surgeon who took me seriously and fixed a dangerous defect in my bowel via laparotomy.

Dr. Olberding prevented an emergency surgery for me by listening to symptoms and reviewing my history, which was from out of state. He swiftly scheduled me for surgery the morning after consultation due to the severity and painful symptoms I was having. I am a nurse with knowledge on the procedure however he still took the time to explain things to me as a patient and not another medical professional. He did so with respect to my previous knowledge and consideration to the difference of being the patient this time. My post surgical pain management was perfect. He also made my follow up call himself which is not standard in healthcare these days. My laparoscopic scars are nearly undetectable as well.

I consulted with Dr. Rathje about having my gallbladder removed. We discussed my symptoms and he explained the laparoscopic procedure. He listened to my concerns and answered all of my questions. He was so kind, patient and professional. The surgery scheduler Haylie was helpful, informative and professional. I had the surgery and couldn’t be more pleased with the results. I had a follow up call with Dr. Rathje instead of an office visit a few weeks after surgery. He was genuinely interested in how I was doing after surgery, advised me to listen to my body and call him with any concerns. He is a caring and kind Doctor. I highly recommend Dr. Rathje and General Surgery Associates.

My visit was a few decades ago where this provider/surgeon left me for ....! Over 20 years of pain and residue problems.

Very kind and excellent bedside manner. He fully explained what occurred from his perspective after the procedure to help us understand the challenges he faced. Give a blow to the gut he was very compassionate and understanding. He was very professional and did not rush with us even though he was running behind in his schedule. I appreciated him taking his time with us and his compassion through challenging information. Thank you!

My experience with Dr. Olberding was nothing but exceptional. I’ve used him twice removing lymph nodes from my armpit because of melanoma. He’s very knowledgeable and personable. I wouldn’t recommend any other surgeon other than Dr. Brad Olberding.

Dr. Nagengast is a wonder diagnostician and surgeon. He is also very kind and makes you feel comfortable.

My husband had an emergency appendectomy three and a half weeks ago. We called for the follow up and was told Dr. Olberding would be calling at a certain date and time. Those times came and went and never heard back. He started having extreme pain again, three weeks out from surgery like something had ripped or was trying to come out. He called the office and again didn’t hear anything back. We ended up back at the ER. Went to see Dr. Olberding for follow up visit (finally) today and didn’t address my husbands pain at all. My husband is 28 years old, he should be able to heal up fine and quickly. Very disappointed in Dr. Olberding and the surgery and the follow up care my husband received.

Dr. Nagengast came highly recommended and did not disappoint. I believe God puts people in our paths and I feel very blessed to have had Dr. Nagengast and his staff in my life. He is very calm and patient which really helps put you at ease. He relates to his patients very well and makes a concerted effort to do so.

I tried to press no stars yeah, but it wouldn't let me. This man performed outpatient hernia surgery on my sister. Apparently, his success has gone to his head. The lackadaisical manner in which he treated my sister with, killed her. After going home, she had called his office to complain about pain she was having. The receptionist on the phone, home apparently is free to give diagnosis to his patients, told her she had had a bunch of things moved around inside of her, and it is going to hurt. But during the operation, nicked her intestines, which immediately started the process of going septic. after the initial operation being performed on a Wednesday, finally decided to take a look at her on Tuesday the following week. By then of course, it was way too late to save her. With her husband and her immediate family by her side, and her daughter in route from Dallas , never regained consciousness. After the previous Friday, I never got to speak to my big sister again.

Dr Olberding is a fantastic surgeon!! I did not meet him until 5 minutes before my surgery, he answered all my questions and concerns. I highly recommend him for any general surgery needs.

Of course I will recommend Dr. Olberding. He told me about my operation and was completely honest.

I had abdominal pain and saw my main doctor at Syracuse. He sent me to the emergency room and couple hours later, Dr. Olberding showed up at the Syracuse hospital to start checking me to see where I was hurting at. I showed him. He said, "I think it might be gallstones, or a bad gallbladder. Ultra sound, nothing showed up. Then a test on the gallbladder, alone. There was the problem. He wanted to get it out of me that next week. Perfect bedside manners! Would recommend him to everyone.

Dr. Olberding is great. I recently had an emergency appendectomy. Brad did the surgery and follow up care. I would give him my highest recommendation.

Pray that you are lucky enough to get Dr. Brad Olberding as a surgeon if you have emergency surgery in Lincoln, NE. He is the most outstanding surgeon in the state & beyond! He is kind & compassionate, but mostly his expertise & skill in his field of surgical procedures is what counts. Dr. Olberding actually had drawn a diagram of my procedure & went through it twice with me! He asked me about my comfort & let me know if there was "anything" I needed to let him know. Thank you, Dr. Olberding.

I couldn't say enough kind things about this man. My father had esophageal cancer, and surgery was about his only option for extending his life. Dr. Olberding was kind, great at explaining things, patient with all of our questions, etc. Because of him, and another thoracic surgeon, my dad is alive today.

Dr. Nagengast is the only doctor I would ever go to for any general surgery procedure. He has done three procedures for me so far and each one has been a great experience. He has a very mild manner and great, soft approach which can ease any nerves. He cares a great deal about the comfort and healing of his patients and does excellent work. His nurse Angie also has a great bed side manner, answers/returns phone calls timely and explains and answers any questions thoroughly.
