Review of Dr. Viens

- |

I am 3.5 months out from a complicated surgery to repair numerous cysts in the bones of my ankle which had eroded the tibia. Dr. Viens was great at assessing the situation and discussing my options, both surgical and non-surgical. My physical therapist says I had a complicated surgery, however, it went very well. I can't imagine having trusted anyone else with this situation. Dr. Viens has always been very compassionate and patiently answered all the questions I have had at every visit. I appreciate his conservative approach to help ensure my post operative success. The nurse, PA and PT that I've worked with have also been awesome. I recommend Dr. Viens and his team without reservation to anyone needing foot/ankle surgery.

Review of Dr. Viens

If Dr. Viens cannot perform surgery he does not seem interested in assisting you with other options to reduce constant pain and difficulty walking. I was told to "live with the condition", it did not require surgery. I previously saw him several times for the other foot that will require surgery but it will Not be with him. I am a medical professional too and this poor level of care should not be present today.

Review of Dr. Viens

Very confident, knowledgeable, detailed, thorough and professional! I am a 47 yr old, very active female. I thought I would have to live with my ankle pain the rest of my life until I had a visit with Dr. Viens. Once he shared with me his plan, which was to reconstruct my ankle, repair the ligaments & tendons and basically give me a new ankle, I was so excited! I am way too active to allow my ankle to cripple me the rest of my life. 4 weeks post op and feel like a million bucks. I am tremendously grateful. Dr. Viens not only has a good reputation amongst his patience, but other medical professionals think very highly of him as well. Time and time again I would hear from other nurses, staff members and now the PT staff, how much they appreciate him. They compliment how very detailed his notes are. Everything is thoroughly explained on the portal. Thank you Dr Viens for giving me a positive future. Also,Sarah Wilkerson, PA-C, was a favorite of mine. I highly recommend her as well!!

Review of Dr. Viens

Dr. Viens recommended a procedure that did not go as intended. At a followup appointment, Dr. Viens entered the exam room and stated, "I am going to do the talking and you are going to do the listening." He was unsympathetic to the fact that I went from occasional discomfort prior to the procedure, to unrelenting pain that impacted my ability to walk following the procedure.

Review of Dr. Mitchell

Dr. Mitchell is caring and thorough. With rheumatoid arthritis, I cannot imagine trusting my health to another physician. She listens! I also love her infusion nurse, Joleen. They make an excellent team. If you are looking for an excellent rheumatologist, she is the one!

Review of Dr. Merz

- in Durham, NC |

Dr. Merz performed a hip resurfacing and labral repair on my hip joint in 2019. After seeing 2 other orthopedic surgeons, he correctly diagnosed my problem and recommended a repair rather than replacement. I have been very satisfied with the results so far (after 4 months). He is caring, responsive, and easy to understand. He also responds to emails directly and promptly which is unusual for doctors. I highly recommend Dr. Merz for hip and knee problems!

Review of Dr. Aldridge III

I struggled with left hand/finger pain for a long time. I had 2 prior surgeries, performed by another physician, that just didn't seem to work. The pain was out of control. I have RA and OA. I had a left thumb fusion, left hand tight rope procedure, and reconstruction of non traumatic tendon rupture on my left index and middle finger. These 3 procedures were all done at the same time. Wish you could see before and after pictures. I am now 3 months post op and I could not be happier. Truthfully, when the cast came off after the first week I was happy and knew the surgery worked. I followed Dr. Aldridge's and OTs instructions to a tee. Scars look amazing. One you can hardly see any more. I will continue to follow my home therapy program until I am 100%. I have already recommended Dr. Aldridge to a neighbor. Dr. Aldridge, you are amazing, compassionate, caring and a true expert in your field. Thank you for giving me back my hand and the ability to do everyday tasks.

Review of Dr. Viens

Dr. Viens was not only highly skilled and confident, he was always friendly and took time to answer my questions. I had many broken bones in my ankle, yet he was always optimistic about my outcome, and he delivered. My PT, Diana Frank, with the same practice, was also wonderful. I can recommend both of them highly.
