Explains things in a way you can understand. Good manners. Pleasant person to have as your doctor.

Review of Dr. Tortora

I was a patient of Dr Tortora's for years. I would always try to schedule the first appointment in the morning with him because he seems to run late consistently. He is usually even late with the first appointment ! He was always very good and professional with me until my last visit with him. He seemed brusque and not really interested very much. Everybody has a bad day right ? The reason I only give him a 3 is because the office staff there has never been very good.

Competent clinician but plan on waiting 45-60 minutes at each appointment. He always over books his appointments and staff will say he has an “emergency.”

Review of Dr. Tortora

-Raleigh, NC |

He removed my prostate, but never even came to follow up in the hospital. Office visits had 1 - 2 hour wait then 5 minutes with him.. Four years later PSA rising again. He scheduled me for "pet" scan. Had to wait 3 weeks after scan for results. His nurse called me with "questions" but I missed the call. Called back 4 times over a 3 week period but the nurse was "too busy" to talk, and never returned my calls. For appointment,s, allow at least 3 extra hours past your scheduled time !

Review of Dr. Tortora

I have found Dr. Tortora highly competent with the general well-being of his patients being primary. He is definitely a no-nonsense doctor. He is direct and straight to the point. As lousy as prostate cancer is, Dr. Tortora has made this issue as positive as it could be made. I am still under his care 2 years now and have no desires to go anywhere else. Now, I must say, be prepared for him to be behind schedule as he seems to be anywhere between 30 minutes and an hour behind schedule.

Review of Dr. Tortora

He books too many patients to be able to spend any time with you. He also seems to be out of date in his knowledge. The PSA test tends to be the predominant measure of whether further action should be taken; he needs to take a more holistic approach and spend more time with each patient. Finally, it seems like he is more of a business man than a doctor. He has lots of gadgets (Uro Nav, HIFU, etc.) and seems to want to maximize his return on investment. He should put his patients first.

Dr, Tortora is a great doctor he takes all the time needed with his patients and he cares about them. I seen him about 2-3 times then i was going to see him in Jan. 2017 and i could not do it because i did not have the $166.00 and change so i had to stop going to see him.

Review of Dr. Tortora

I have seen Dr Tortora for over 20 I have never questioned his dedicatiion to his patients and their health issues. When any of my doctors are behind on their appointment schedule, I know it is because other patients required more time and attention than their appointment allowed. Sometimes I get less time than others, because the schedule is behind. But, I know if my issue requires more time to resolve, Dr Tortora's priority is the patient, not the appointment schedule.
