I needed a great orthopedic doctor to operate on my tibia plateau fracture. Dr. Swope was my first choice; however, his practice was too great a distance from me ti be a practical choice. Dr. Swope personally contacted a former colleague and asked if he could take my case. Dr. Swope cares about all patients with a tenacity not seen in many surgeons. I very thankful to him. I am fully recovered thanks to Dr. Swope.

Excellent. Dr. Swope was so patient with explaining the source of my pain and how to correct it. Ive had doctors who rushed through without taking time to answer my questions, but he listened and calmed any anxiety I felt about possible surgery. Bedside manner was excellent. I am painfree and highly recommend Dr. Swope. He knows what he is doing!

Dr Swope at University Health did a great job on my knee. Very easy to talk to and the visit was fast.

Dr. Swope performed an intramedullary rod insertion for a left humerus fracture on me in march of 2017 at Mike O'Callahan Air Force hospital in Las Vegas, NV. The surgery was wholly inadequate. Dr. Swope selected an implant that was too long, resulting in the bare end protruding from my humeral head, impinging my rotator cuff and impacting against my labrum causing me intense pain. Additonally, he failed to properly secure the implant with enough screws, leaving my arm to rotate along the fracture without any chance of healing. After he operated on me I never saw him again, he was unavailable at any of my follow-up appointments and I was forced to seek medical care from another provider without any turnover. He also filed an incomplete surgical report that was missing an entire page. The rod was required to be removed in a follow-up surgery from the VA to correct Dr. Swope's many mistakes. During the revision surgery it was discovered that I received a bone infection from his surgery.

I visited LeConte ER for an emergency laceration after a fall, and I was referred to Dr. Swope. I developed a large hematoma which I returned to the ER for the following week. Dr. Swope saw me at my 2nd ER visit, and again for a third time at his office to have the stitches removed. He spent very little time with me and gave no remedy for the large hematoma, nor did he do any tests to see why after a week and a half of healing, I was worse and in more pain than immediately following the accident. He had the stitches removed and referred me to physical therapy. Five days after the stitches were removed, the hematoma exploded while I was in the shower, and I returned to LeConte ER for the bleeding. The ER Dr. determined quickly that I most likely had arterial damaged that was unnoticed. He ordered an ultrasound, then I had an aneurysm erupt in my wrist and went by ambulance for emergency surgery at UT. I was put in danger, pain, and trauma by his failure to notice my condition.

Best Ortho. Dr. in my opinion.He performed a scope knee surgery and a scope shoulder surgery...both painless and recovery time was minimal. He was very considerate of all my concerns and anxiety of both procedures...Also, regularly scheduled knee injections painless compared to other Drs.....HIGHLY RECOMMEND to others!!
