I have never encountered such a brusk, perfunctory physician before. The staff (receptionist and physician assistant) were equally dispassionate. I felt like a head of cattle more than a human being. The feel of the office, in general, and the examination rooms specifically, is crude and outdated. A simple blood pressure check was extremely painful. There are multi-month delays to schedule needed tests with their own overbooked equipment instead of sending patients someplace quicker.
Had an EMG done to diagnose Carpal Tunnel in Jan. Dr. did not explain what he was doing during the test. I tried to ask questions-he just didn't answer. He didn't really do anything but the test, told me I had Carpal Tunnel (which I already knew), and showed me to the door saying "I'll send the report to your primary physician-follow up with them." It is now May, and I need a copy of my EMG, and I just found out they never even bothered to send it to my primary. Thx for nothing but a $600 bill!
He doesn't respond or care to significant office problems and processes with staff. Extremely difficult to do business with! Very unpleasant staff in Novi and Farm Hills. Find a different Dr.
By far the most intelligent and caring neurologist in mi. He listens and spends the time with you to answer all your questions, even after 30 years. Front desk sucks. Very lazy and know it alls.
I've been seeing Dr. Mark Silverman for 4 years now. He's consistently been patient with all my concerns and had a pleasant and professional demeanor. I go to the Farmington Hills location and he obviously has a nice relationship with the employees. Lots of smiles there. I've recommended him to my friends and will continue to do so.
Dr. Bruce Silverman is absolutely amazing. I had gone through 4-5 neurologists before I saw him. He was very thorough going through all my paperwork from previous hospital stays. I had been misdiagnosed for months. Previous neurologists had told me to see a psychiatrist for my pain because they couldn't figure out what was going. Dr. Silverman found the holes in my testing and was the first neurologist that actually got to the root of my problem. I ABSOLUTELY recommend him.
Dr. Silverman is the only physician (out of the 5 specialists) that I currently see, that takes the time to discuss my medical condition/treatments. If not for Dr. Silverman, I would still be laying in bed taking several unnecessary medications. He makes sure you get the medical tests you really need, and sees to it they are performed in a timely manner. I think Dr. Silverman is how all physicians should be; knowledgeble, kind, and caring. I am glad I found this wonderful doctor!
Dr Elkiss spends time with me as a patient and gives me his full attention. He respect of my time and needs is so impressive.
I am new to MI and had to find new neuro for MS.Chose Dr K based on his office being nearby. Mistake. His staff is horrible...his med assistant invents numbers when taking VS. She took my BP and when she reported it to be SIGNIFICANTLY higher than usual I told her and she shrugged. Also "counted" my respirations although I held my breath so she couldn't possibly have. (I am a nurse and know the right way to check VS). This is dangerous for all pts. Esp the elderly.
Dr. M Silverman screamed at an employee of his right outside the room I was waiting in before entering. I was very uncomfortable. The Dr took no time to explain my MRI results & acted as if I was an inconvenience to him. I felt I was not cared for by the dr at all. Also, their office doesn't have a voicemail set up & charged me a $25 no show fee for an apt that was scheduled for 8am & I had tried calling to cancel since 5pm the night prior. The billing dept has very poor customer service skills!
Really poor communication between himself and staff. This causes major problems with billing, appointments, and refills. He is arrogant and does not listen very well to your concerns as a patient. Bad mouths insurance companies but seems to continue to accept insurance carriers. He would probably be better off being on his own and take cash only (no insurance) for appointments. He spends very little time with you as a patient and you often have to wait over an hour just to see him 5 min.
Very thoughtful and helpful. Great doctor
Very compassionate. Actually listened to me and my family. Bedside manner was great.
My husband is currently seeing this doctor and I have gone with him to appointments as he is still in the process of being diagnosed. Dr K may have the knowledge, but he has aweful personal skills. He is rude and arrogant! He likes to refer you to only his business partners and does not consider alternative options due to financial situations We will be switching to a doctor that was recommend to my husband as soon as possible. We feel that it is mostly about the cash for him than anything else!
Dr. Warra is one of the best doctors I have had and thank god I found him. He is great with treatment options and is very easy going. I have MS and he has ben able to make my quality of life better. I have had this disease for 20 years . He understands me and that is so important. He also is funny and has a great personality. It's very helpful especially when you are stressed and not feeling well.
I will (and have) referred Dr. K to my friends, One of the kindest, and nicest people I have met, very thorough, dedicated and sympathetic to my situation. Always willing to work with me with regard to schedule and financial arrangements. Also Dr, K listens to me and communicates medical problems. Very compassionate, very intelligent, very talented.
Worst experience ever and I have never been around a doctor who cares so little about my issue. Simply terrible and I would never recommend him to anyone. I had to change doctors to find someone to truly listen and help me. He was extremely stubborn and his bedside manor was a joke and an embarrassment to the practice, and frankly to himself. Just a horrible experience. We always had to wait and with each visit he seemed to forget all about the case. 0 concern.
Dr. Silverman is very caring and compassionate. I have never felt rushed during an appointment. He takes the extra time to do a complete neuro exam every visit and fully answer any questions. The office atmosphere is somewhat lacking at the two locations I have visited and definitely need an update. Initially I was turned off by the waiting room and exam area, but as soon as I meet Dr. B Silverman I decided it really didn't matter. He is an extremely skilled physician.
Hard to get prescription refills. Refused to fill scripts or allow appointments to be scheduled over a small balance of co-pay ($80.00), even though he was well aware I had recently gone through a divorce, basically losing over half of my income, I am on a fixed income since I cannot work due to my MS and spinal fusion surgery. He out of the blue dropped me as a patient, no warning, never discussed anything with me, over some rescheduled appointments due to bad weather, or lack of money to go.
Very informed and observant
Does follow through when calling in prescriptions. Then when you need your refill that he said he'd call isn't there he make you come in again in order to fill it, but takes a month to get an appointment, when you do get in you wait 30-45 min to see him 5. Well there's another $30 wasted.
