Dr. Jay and staff did a great job with comforting and taking care of my husband, who passed from pancreas Cancer Nov 15, 2015. He was given 2 weeks on his 51st birthday, but lived 18 months longer. I just want to say "Thank you" for doing your best. I have no regrets. I understand God will always have the final say in all of our lives. God be with Dr. Jay and Staff

Last few years, he has changed a lot. He no longer listens, raises his voice and belittles you. Does not want to explain or answer questions anymore. Rushes in and out, leaves you wondering why you even drove all that way and waited so long to see him. We hire doctors. Does he realize that.

Dr. D'Errico took my symptoms seriously (even though I "looked healthy"), went through my chart and lab results carefully, and fully explained what he was looking for and why. He's thorough, kind, and makes sure that you understand both the tests being ordered and the results.

Waited over 90 minutes to see him. Was rude and didn't even know my history after I filled out a five page questionnaire. Never let me know my test results. Had me put a chemo port. But since oct 2020. Have never had chemo. Never returns phone call. He should retire.

I see Dr. Jaiyesimi at least once a month. He is among the very best of the best oncologists in the greater Detroit area. He was a fellow at MD Anderson Cancer Center and is very active in the field of study of CLL, my particular cancer. He is patient, kind, and will call me day or night as needed. I highly recommend him to anyone seeking cancer treatment at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak

Dr. Blankenship is my oncologist. I am recovering from colon cancer. She is direct which I appreciate. Her information and explanations were always complete and understandable. She took time with me and I never felt rushed. It's evident she cares deeply about her patients. She is kind, which I needed. She was/is there for me, which I also needed and wanted. She is an attribute to he profession, and I've been fortunate to be in her care.

For the past year i've been treated by Dr. Huben for a condition that causes my body to absorb and store excess iron. In general, the medical model for treating this condition is to have blood regularly removed. Dr. Huben ordered such removal, and monitored my draw down adequately. However, my case has been complicated, it has taken much longer than most patients to be treated, and i remain having some strange outlying markers in my blood results that indicate i may not be fully treated. When i suggested to Dr. Huben that my case may be more complex, and there may need to be additional metrics that we analyze in order to consider treatment, she was entirely resistant to considering them, and immediately jumped to suggesting that I go see a different physician. I offered to share some newer medical journal studies regarding this topic, but she refused to review them. Despite attempting to be calm yet firm in inquiring more about my care, and affirming that i respected her as a physicia

My wife was diagnosed with a "rare form of cancer" for her age. We were assigned Dr. Blankenship to guide chemotherapy. The amount of chemotherapy drugs she prescribed turned out to be too much for my wife and she passed away one month after a successful surgery, being diagnosed "cancer free". She died from heart failure after being transported to Henry Ford (Beaumont had reached the limits of their abilities, but not before destroying her heart beyond repair). During the treatment there were many signs that things were not going well, and despite being reassured that Dr. Blankenship and her team would keep a very close eye on my wife, and despite us both bringing issues concerning her poor reaction to the drugs, minimal attention was given. We saw students more than we saw Dr. Blankenship, for instance. I still remember when she came in to tell us that the heart failure was her biggest health concern. Could you be next?

My husband passed from pancreatic cancer. Dr. Jaiyesimi may have been educated; however I would go so far as to call him egocentric with a lack for empathy. On one occasion, my shaking, teary eyed husband looked straight into Dr. J. eyes and said, "Dr. I am really scared." Dr. J. acknowledged my husband's heartfelt feelings by stating, "we are all scared; I'm afraid to put my children on the bus every morning." That was it! Silently, we left feeling hopeless and never discussed it again

I love Dr. J! He is extremely competent and the kindest doctor that I have ever met. He takes his time with me and we laugh and joke together. He has such a positive attitude, which in turn, helps me to keep a positive attitude, I wish all doctors were like Dr. J.

Dr. Stender is awesome. He took on my case from another oncologist who, I'm convinced, was going to kill me. He always takes a great deal of time with me and answers my questions completely. I find him compassionate, personable and pretty funny. He is knowledgeable, too! I hope to never have a need to recommend someone to an oncologist but if I do... Stender is the man!
