I came to Dr. Schmidt after being referred by numerous specialists to see a rheumatologist for a variety of issues and psoriatic arthritis workup. Each encounter with Dr. Schmidt was really wonderful, even though my case is very difficult to pinpoint things and he didn't have a lot of answers for me. He was one of the only physicians that I felt actually listened to me and ordered numerous tests to try to nail things down. I appreciate his manner of communication, his calm and friendly demeanor and the skills he possesses. Would highly recommend him.

Dr. Megan Krause is a terrific doctor. The best medical professional I have had in 69 years. She is experience, knowledgeable, listens, cares, and treats you like a person she genuinely wants to help. I wish all my doctors were more like Dr Megan Krause.

Dr. Taylor is an outstanding doctor! He is patient, listens thoroughly, and gives you his attention. Sometimes I had to wait awhile if he had to deal with an emergency. If I were in an emergency, I would want his attention! Working with him gave me 10 additional years before needing my transplant. when that time came, he fought to get me onto the transplant list.

Lazy, uncaring, lacking empathy. I nearly died from her treatment. She prescribed medications without discussing side effects to watch out for. I developed a crippling cough, lung congestion, difficulty swallowing and had no idea what was causing it. During my last visit with her she basically said she was done seeing me so I had no idea that these meds could make me so sick. She should have said she wanted to see me again in a few weeks to see how I was doing but she didn't. She said she was sending me back to my family doctor so I thought I was done. And through all of this my blood pressure did not improve that much. The worst.

Dr. Carlson and his team were stellar caregivers from the outset. I had every confidence in his expertise. He never once made me feel like he was on autopilot. Rather, he was attentive, responsive and thorough. Lisa Elm coordinated every aspect of the scheduling. pre and post-op, juggling his team's calendar and mine. Here we are, one year after surgery and they are still attuned to my well-being. Best of all, his approach was effective and I'm more myself physically than I've been in several years. I could not recommend a surgical team more highly.

I can’t say enough good things about my back surgery in 2021. A year later I’m still doing great and feel great. I went to Dr Carlson with pain radiating down both legs. The radiating pain did not subside no matter what I did or medication I took. The surgery went very well. The pain I thought I would feel after surgery did not happen. I credit a great Doctor and wonderful nurses that were attentive to my every need. Even bringing me heated blankets when I said I was cold after surgery. I felt so good after surgery I was walking the halls that evening and went home the next day. To anyone putting off back surgery, please don’t! Yes, I heard all the horror stories about back surgery. Ignore the stories and go see Dr Carlson, he will tell you if he can help you. If you feel I’m the exception, I can tell you I have a friend who had surgery a month before I did with Dr Carlson and she is doing great.

Dr Horton and his team did exceptional with my ankle surgery. The medical office is a well oiled machine and always followed up with messages and phone calls within a reasonable time considering how busy they are! I would recommend Dr Horton in a heartbeat to anyone needing ankle/foot surgery. Always make sure you follow his post op instructions!

I have vasovagal syndrome and unfortunately had to transfer my care due to change of insurance. He was who was recommended because he allegedly specializes in autonomic disorders, such as POTS. He told me “everyone passes out” and that I did not need to follow up with cardiology because he sees sick patients. It was an absolute joke and waste of my time and he treated me as if there was nothing wrong with me when I have been followed by both neurology and cardiology for years to direct my care. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Dr. Sokol was business like but did a great job on my eyelid. He called the Monday after my Friday operation just to see how I was doing. Stitches were removed on Wednesday and I was good to go. The height of my eyelids are the same so no one would know I had a problem. Recovery was quick. Had some swelling and reddish coloration after surgery but was less than I expected. Pre-operation consultation was thorough and included everything I needed to know including what pain reliever to use, the use of a topical antibiotic and info on using cold packs to reduce swelling. If I ever have to have another operation such as this., Dr. Sokol will by my choice as surgeon.

I see Dr. Thuringer for my Multiple Sclerosis. She’s young, and I feel like I need to train her a bit on the needs of MS patients, :-) but she’s extremely knowledgeable about MS, and listens closely to me (unlike the male neurologists I’ve seen over the years.) My only issue has been that in the year that I’ve been one of her patients, I’ve experienced difficulty getting in touch with her via phone or using the KU Med Center MyChart app. The neurologists I saw in St. Louis used the same app, but when I had a question, one of their nurse practitioners or physician assistants responded within a few hours. I gave up using the app when it took 2 weeks for a response from a nurse. I don’t blame Dr. Thuringer for this, though, and will voice my concerns when I see her next month.

Read my previous review first. We had to go to a PA because he cancelled on us. The PA then wanted us to come back to see the Dr. in 6 months (we had an appointment with the Dr. that they cancelled!)... so we wait six more months to see Dr. Kavpil, and then they cancel our appointment again!!! "Dr. Kavapil has a conference" or something like that. I had planned travel around this appointment. Fool me once.. I had asked for a different Dr. after the fisrt time, they insisted that I stay. We now have a new Dr.

Dr. Carlson is the answer to a 50-year search for relief from nerve pain caused by injury. He fused my low spine in December, and since early March, at age 74, I've been out hiking with my sister on a regular basis. I've had no twinge of nerve pain, and am counting on continued healing over the next months. I'd previously been told by a senior neurologist that there was nothing that could be done to repair the damage to my back, so over the past few years I'd given up. It's beyond incredible to wake up now without pain, plan a day, and have the wherewithal to execute said plan. Dr. Carlson, exudes kindness and caring along with his clear knowledge and expertise, and I've never been so relaxed about putting my life in someone else's hands. I can't recommend him highly enough to do the entire experience justice.

I fired this mfm Obgyn because she was cold, callus, and irresponsible when it came to practicing safe medicine. She took the “I know it all” route. When I went to another hospital it was immediately apparent that her statements about condition of baby were not only false; but would have put my child in a life-threatening situation. She cannot be trusted.
