While he seems very friendly, he is professionally arrogant, incompetent, and totally negligent. A simple outpatient hernia surgery turned into a chronic pain because of his failure to follow standards of care. Among other things, he failed to recognize that his resident and himself had severed two of my arteries. After 10 hours and multiple complaints, he tried unsuccessfully to find the source of bleeding himself rather than calling the interventional radiologist (and later forged themselves).
Dr. Boyd and I talked to me about my seizure problems. Then, he explained to me that there was another way I could try and Dr. what was best for me, and why. Now I have the VNS Therapy. I have to want two weeks to start my VNS Therapy; can't wait. I really liked Dr. Body, He's the best
His concern and care for his patients is excellent! Have previously visited other urologists,
and none can compare to his expertise in this field! Wonderful doctor!
rude and impatient. would not recommend
He seemed rushed. Gave obvious information that wasn't applicable to me.....such as I would tell you lower blood pressure, but yours is already low I would tell you to lose weight but you don't need to etc NOT HELPFUL. No answers that I couldn't have gotten on a web search.
Poor bedside manner. Seemed hurried to get to the next patient. When I told him I wasn't satisfied with the information he got huffy and ended the appointment.
Shouldn't have been charged for a visit.
Very disappointing. I have type 2 diabetes and had to push him to have A1C and other labs done. The last time I saw him, he avoided looking me in the eye when answering questions. He just didn't seem interested in helping and seemed quite disengaged with my care.
What broke the camel's back was the cavalier approach to my out of control blood sugar...I needed insulin, but they said it would take a few weeks to figure out how to help me. My A1c was 10 while they were deliberating. NO MORE!
Dr. Donigan is great! He helps explain things in a very easy to understand way. Cares about his patients very much and does excellent work.
He's nice enough and good with kids, but I am looking for someone more holistic. He was very text book. He was persistent about putting my kids on prescription fluoride (yikes) and lectured me on the importance of vaccinations after I explained my stance. My daughter had an ear infection and his only answer was a prescription for antibiotics. I asked for alternatives, but he had no response. He is also pro circumcision so I'm glad I took my girls and not my son. I will be looking elsewhere.
I felt very uncomfortable with this doctor. I would suggest others to seek out other opinions before committing to anything with Doctor Dann. Very sad to leave an appointment and cry in my car afterwards.
Got the help I needed!!
Dr. Jennifer is one of the best diagnosticians at the University. She treated me for MS during her residency. I lost track of her after graduation. Very glad to know she is at the UIHC.
Very attentive to my concerns. Great patient Doctor relationship. Would definately recommend Dr. Lindsay. He is also critical care secialist as well as pulmonary.
I find Dr Lauer very helpful. She does not just want to push drugs. She listens and offers alternative solutions as much as possible.
Dr. Thurtell and Dr. Clark and their staff were very pleasant, professional, thorough, and all-around wonderful to meet. The appointment was timely and moved ahead timely. It was a huge relief to feel so well cared for. They explained my son's medical situation very well, gave opportunity for our questions, and will follow up to make sure treatment is working well and he is feeling better. Dr. Thurtell also prescribed medication to ease his intense pain, which is a huge relief to us both.
Dr.Thomas is very kind, thorough, and never makes me feel rushed. I highly recommend her!
Dr. Swarna was the worst doctor I have ever dealt with in all my life. My mother was on her death bed and he was so rude. He is on a power trip and wants everyone to know it is his way or nothing. I would not recommend his services to anyone. He has no compassion, no bedside manners, and all he wants to tell you is that he is in charge of everything.
I went in today for an HSG test. I'd worked myself into a terror from reading horror stories online about this process, but Dr. Thomas was so kind and did an incredible job. The procedure was painless, and even though unfortunately my tubes were blocked, I could not have asked for a sweeter, more skilled doctor. If you're going in for an HSG with her and are feeling afraid, please take comfort knowing she will treat you with compassion and is incredibly skilled and delicate with this procedure.
I needed a PEG tube replacement they initially planned on doing a replacement with out anesthesia but I had some concerns. He and his staff listened to my concerns & he gave me anesthesia. This time He put in a tube that could be more easily replaced, next time, without anesthesia. I am very grateful.
After having met with an accident in 2013 I was crippled and down on a wheel chair as a result of a shattered spine and severe brain injury.I underwent several surgeries but was still unable to walk and the pain unbearable. In 2015 I met with Dr Jacob and oct he performed a reconstructive spine surgery on me.I came into the hospital crippled but I walked out from there on my own feet These are the miracles that they talk about.Today I wake up each morning thanking God and Dr. Jacob.God Bless him.
Dr. Willey is amazing. He has a great bedside manner and is very understanding. He always has a smile on his face and makes you feel very comfortable. He is truly a very caring, compassionate doctor.
She is one of the most compassionate doctors I have ever met. I had to see her for unfortunate circumstances, and she was always kind and patient with me.
Forthright with information and thorough, making certain that all of our questions were answered and understood. As well as being very personable and easy to talk to.
After having stroke like symptoms a couple of weeks earlier, I saw Dr Jimmeh in January. She never read my MRI results from the ER in which they referred me to a Neurologist. She was focused on my arm going to sleep and wanted to do a nerve induction study on it. After my husband and I left, my RN daughter was very upset at the lack of concern over the abnormalities reported in my brain by ER. I went and got a second opinion and found out I have MS with 3 months of non treatment.
Very pleased with the services I've received from Dr. Cherascu. He takes time to explain, answer questions, and show a genuine interest in me and my health.
In general, I believe he is quite good at what he does. I went in wanting a breast augmentation with implants. He said I was a great candidate for a fat transfer that would take fat from my stomach and inject it into my breasts. He said I would achieve the size I wanted with a completely natural feel without the hassle of replacements that implants require. After the surgery my breasts were barely any larger. He said he ran out of fat. So now I've spent over $5,000 with virtually no results.
I typically do not fill out surveys, but could not pass at the opportunity with expressing my gratitude and satisfaction with Dr. Chen and his staff.
His level of expertise, professionalism, and respect for my medical care was above and beyond anything I could have expected.
I highly recommend him, and, if I were looking to do another elective surgery, I would entrust my life in his hands, as I had the first time.
Because of Dr Cherascu, I have gone from not being able to get out of bed to almost being my old mean self again.
Dr. Hettrich repaired my 16yr old daughters torn ACL. She is a no nonsense Dr. who will tell it like it is and does excellent work. She gave very knowledgeable answers to all our questions and great suggestions, even before she new we would be choosing her for my daughters surgery. She was genuinely concerned that my daughter would receive the best surgery options, and care, even if we did not choose her. I would highly recommend her. We are extremely pleased that she was our daughters surgeon.
Doctor Hettrich replaced my left shoulder March 12, 2012. It has been a roaring success. I had regained complete range of motion and have no restrictions on what I can do with my arm. In fact, she did such a great job, she's going to replace my right shoulder the first part of November 2016. I am 67, work and train horses and there is nothing I can't do on the left side. Now it's time to bring the right arm up to speed!
Dr. Howe is an warm, open, easy going guy, with a deep knowledge of his field and a gifted surgeon. He is very thorough in discussing conditions, procedures and possible options.
He specializes in Neuroendocrine tumors, and treatment of NET patients, which a rarity.
Had a very complex meniscus tear as well as a severed ACL. She fixed it right up, and the staff at U of I is some of the best in the country.
Great Dr. Halwai really seemed to care about my cancer diagnosis. She even contacted me after I was referred to The James Cancer Hospital to answer any questions .
Horrible Doctor. Very poor attitude, very unprofessional and very untrust worthy. I would not recommend anyone to him!!!!!!
Did my sinus surgery. Was great. Explained everything. Best ENT in Lima
Dr. Halawi was very patient with me and explained everything in detail. I had a tube placed in my ear and it did help solve my problem. She was very unrushed, pleasant, and up beat. I have referred several people to her office and believe she is the best ENT in Lima.
Dr Halawi tried ear tube insertion for 45 minutes. Unable to complete due to scarring in ear. Very painful by that time as Lidocaine wore off. She scheduled surgery to put under. Then decided to change drs. New ENT out of town said ear tube wouldn't help at all as there is permanent hearing loss. Said the procedure should've taken 5 minutes. If unsuccessful, he would've stopped.
Dr. Michaels assured me she was capable of excising the endometriosis from several areas in my pelvis. She was not capable. She ablated them instead, meaning she burned the top of the growths without removing it. She told me she got it all. When my pain came back a MONTH later, not even when I was recovered, she insisted it had to be my kidneys, that it wasn't endo pain again & told I was wrong. I had excision surgery 6 months later, and the surgeon removed huge amounts of endo from 5 surfaces.
Dr. Perdock Martin is amazing! She was the psychiatrist that I saw while I was a patient in the partial hospitalization eating disorder program. She is extremely intelligent, but also really caring. Definitely recommend her!
Kind & compassionate doctor. Takes time to listen to you so you get a thorough visit. I never feel rushed.
I am a college baseball player that suffered from a concussion during one of my games. I was sent to Dr. Ruff and was thoroughly impressed with how caring and down to earth he seems with my personal situation. He is always glad to help and answer any questions I have.
I'm sad to see dr. shawkey is no longer at federal way location. she was a caring, concerned, and sensitive doctor. she treated me very well.
She is a very nonjudgemental, laid back therapist that takes notes, listens well and helps brainstorm ways to deal with my issues. She does a fantastic job of following and remembering the details of my life, such as multiple peoples names and prior visits details. Peggy is wonderful at helping organize any applicable resources and writing any letters as needed.
I wouldn't take my dog to see this doctor! She's rude, assumptive, judgmental and acts as though your being her patient is putting her out.
She brushes off parental concerns, when parents clearly know their child and what is out of the ordinary for that particular child. Treats patients with a generic approach, rather than taking into account the individual and their specific needs.
Overall office environment is unprofessional; have had to sit in waiting room for close to an hour with sick, coughing children around my well child, and no efforts were made by staff to inform me what the hold up was.
Poor bedside manner
I am a new patient, picking up with Dr. Yuri after Dr. B. moved.
I am extremely happy with his service. He asked about my past treatments, my goals, and explained that there were options for me that would help me my goal of getting off of Methadone as a treatment.
I am into my second set of injections, a new mix of medication, and am almost completely off of Methadone and with less pain than I had before. Knowledgeable and professional, I would recommend him to anyone!
I have been seeing Dr. Tsirulnikov for pain management and reducing my opioid use following a spinal fusion one year ago. While in a nursing home, I was given excessive doses of oxycontin and oxycodone, and so I needed to go to a pain clinic to help decrease my usage. I was motivated to do this, and Dr. Tsirulnikov was absolutely the perfect person to treat me. He was professional, caring, patient and made sure he listened to me and made sure that he understood how I was doing and encouraged me.
Our son was born with a very complex congenital heart defect and has had three open heart surgeries as a result of his condition at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics performed by Dr. Turek. Words cannot express the gratitude and appreciation our family feels towards Dr. Turek. He is obviously a very skilled and talented surgeon, but beyond that he is a very compassionate and caring person. There is no one our family would be more comfortable and confident in handing our son over to.
Dr. Turek assisted with my son's Fontan surgery. We first met Dr. Turek at our pre-op appointment. He helped ease our nerves by explaining the surgery and taking the time to answer all our questions. We felt very confident in his skills after this appointment. Our son's surgery went very well and we continued to be impressed with the care he received post-op. It has been five years since my son's surgery, but Dr. Turek still takes time to say hi and ask how our son is doing whenever we see him.
Dr Turek is a great dr and surgeon! He cares about his patients and their families! Our daughter had surgery at the age of 2.5 and she says, "I love Dr Turek, he fixed my broken heart!" Out of the mouth of babes!
Dr. Turek has done three open heart surgeries on our son: Norwood, Hemi-Fontan and Lateral Tunnel Fontan. He is truly a lifesaver. He remembers every family that he cares for and will go out of his way to ask how they are doing. His skill is amazing but Dr. Turek is more than just our son's heart surgeon. He has become family.
I love the guy , Dr Yuri listened to and helped me , gave me my life back because of the pain and pain from other Dr's I was ready to give up but Dr Yuri is so gifted through injections and treatments he has really helped . I could hardly tell the treatment was being done ! That is awesome. I checked him out with my other Dr's and they speak very highly of him and my sister goes to him , my wife , my aunt and several friends. I usually don't recommend a Dr but I would recommend Dr Yuri !
Dr. Tsirulnkov is one of the worst physicians I have ever seen in my personal and professional experience (over 20 years). He took over a Swedish pain management physicians practice (which I was a part of) who left and patients have been leaving ever since he started in the beginning of 2017. This physician doesnt listen to his patients (which results in false info. in your chart), looks for every opportunity to dismiss his patients, and is only concerned about covering his legal liability.
I practically crushed my wrist and she must have spent a long time attaching everything with metal parts. She saved my wrist, my arm. It is like new. I can do everything like before the accident.
I am a male in my early thirties. I saw Dr. VanHofwegen for a rotator cuff repair which is a notoriously painful surgery with a long postop recovery period. I truly had no pain after surgery, following Dr. VanHofwegen's post-op advice I took my rehabilitation very seriously. Nine months later I am back to normal, the atrophy is gone and my strength has returned! For me, the experience was flawless. I would definitely schedule with him in the future if I should ever need surgery again.
Would not recommend this dr. Ever. Totally disengaged. Left appointment frustrated and feeling degraded. Will not be returning.
I recently saw Dr. Van Hofwegen for a knee injury. I was quickly seen and very much appreciated the time he spent on assessment, listening to my concerns and offering treatment options.
