Blunt. Very direct and possibly not the Dr. to see if you prefer warm and fuzzy bedside manner. He wasn’t wrong in his advice, just a bit brutally honest.

I would never recommend Brian Steinke to ANYONE. He is a HAPHAZARD, CONDESCENDING, EGOTISTICAL, UNCOMPASSIONATE, MOST RUDE Doctor/person I've ever met or seen in my life. He is not a good person or a good Orthopedic. He does not listen to you. He will talk over you then dismiss you in a couple minutes leaving you frustrated and still at a 10 in pain. He ignores YOUR NEEDS, Physical therapy notes, test results, ER visits and cuts you off of any kind of pain relief when you clearly need something. He will talk poorly of his patients once he leaves a room with them (I've heard him). He recently did a lumbar surgery on me that has left me in the most pain I've even been in my life with NO help for pain at all. Seek a Neurosurgeon or someone who listens and wants the best for you, your family or loved ones. do yourself a HUGE favor and seek a Doctor you are comfortable with and is sincere. This flipping guy is not the one. He should be banned from this profession. I can go on but no room.

Dr. Charles performed my father’s knee surgery. Not only did the surgery go as planned, but he was very supportive and took great care after the operation and provided great recommendations. He is a very knowledgeable and professional doctor. I would highly recommend him for quality care and results.

She is not a good listener and had made her treatment decision based on my MRI before seeing or talking to me. That’s not the type of Dr. I need or want to partner with for my care.

By far the best! Three doctors turned me down. My left knee that had a replacement 25 years ago exploded. Dr. Charles came in and said he would do the surgery. They said two to three months recovery but I was back to work in three weeks totally pain free. I highly recommend Dr. Charles. I refer him to everyone with hip or knee problems.

I had 2 lumbar surgeries in a year that not only didn't help but left me practically an invalid. I know suffer from such severe nerve damage that not any of the strongest painkillers can help, I attribute this to poor surgical technique. I've had a year to research, study, talk with others, etc. and I haven't found a single case that has the level of nerve damage that I have from the surgeries. He misdiagnosed my condition twice, seemingly ignoring the diagnostic imaging and other test results instead randomly removing discs he thought where causing problems. I now live in so much pain that wearing clothes is a 9 out of 10 pain level. Also, I can only sit and lay down for short periods before I have to get up because the pain increases to a 10 out of 10, which as you can imagine makes sleep impossible. I can only stand and walk for a few minutes at a time. My entire lower body goes numb. I could go on but I'm sure you get the picture. Any other Dr would be a better choice.

Dr. Lupa replaced my left hip approximately 1 year ago and did a fantastic job. He was extremely detailed before the surgery. What to expect and very reassuring about any and all questions I had. He patiently explained the procedure to me. What to expect the day of surgery and what to expect once surgery was over. Knowing what is going to happen is so important. The day of surgery I was not surprised or alarmed about the procedure. Everything went exactly as Dr. Lupa had said it would. Afterward, he came to see me and was very encouraging about what I could expect in the coming weeks. I now find myself having to have my other hip replaced and there was no thoughts of who I would trust to do this surgery. I very much appreciate Dr. Lupa's skill as a surgeon, but also his wonderful, kind bedside manner.

It starts with his staff. All of his staff is very professional and caring. I had a disability claim and his office always provided the necessary information to the insurance company in a timely manner for proper payment. The doctor was genuinely caring and through with my back problem. I'm doing fine now. Our son had back surgery performed by Dr. Steinke a few years ago and he had wonderful results. I would recommend him to all.

This was my first and last visit with this or any other orthopedic doctor at North Western. Dr Steinke was the worst doctor I have ever seen in my entire life. He is rude, arrogant, flippant, argumentative, dismissive and overall the most uncompassionate human being I've ever encountered. I went just to have an abnormal MRI of my neck interpreted in terms i could understand. Instead what I got was getting talked at in a rude and antagonistic tone, the entire time. I went seeking help understanding an MRI that was already done and whether I had anything that I need to be concerned about or any actions I could take that would help. He even mentioned during the visit that there were other people that complained about what I assume was him because he couldn't help then that's why they are upset, let me tell you The reason why people are complaining about you doctor is your attitude and your treatment of your fellow human beings not of any help that you may or may not be able to offer.

This kind, highly skilled Dr saved my leg.......and my life. In ER, he knew instantly what he would to repair my tibial plateau fracture. He did it, and I can walk again. God bless Dr Witkowski.

Dr. Steinke did my lumbar fusion and the experience could not have been better. I went from needing a wheelchair pre op to walking with ease a few hours later. I absolutely give him five stars across the board. He’s smart, experienced, and - along with his nurse, Sharon Jones, RN - committed to outstanding patient care.

I came to see Charlie in desperation. I have been suffering with my knee for almost a year. I had a knee replacement 12 years ago in another state. Charlie so far, has given me hope and a treatment plan, which is more than my other orthopedic Dr. has given me. Dr. Lupo has been great!
