Dr. Brent has been very helpful in helping me find relief from my neurological issues. I appreciate that he works with a multidisciplinary team of other doctors and mid-level professionals. He ordered a lot of tests that revealed useful information. The doctor is one of the few experts in Illinois that treat my illness and probably the world.

Dr. Brent is the best neurologist I’ve seen. I have been getting weaker for years and nobody seemed to have an explanation. He comforted me and my family. He showed us compassion and didn’t make us feel rushed. He is very knowledgeable and got the diagnosis right away. I am on treatment now and I am definitely improving. He says it will take time and rehab to see the maximum benefit. I am looking forward to working with him and his team more.

Dr. Brent was extremely personable and friendly. I felt like I was visiting an old friend that I had known a long time though we were just meeting. He has outstanding bedside manner and incorporated my family into the discussion. All of our questions were answered. I had been misdiagnosed by several other doctors and Dr. Brent figured out what is causing my symptoms. I am getting better with the treatment.

I just recently had an appointment with this doctor and it did not go well. As mentioned in a couple of the previous reviews, he also accused me of not having what I had been diagnosed with for the last 3 years. He wants me to see someone on 'his team' to be re-diagnosed. He even accused me of using my medication to get 'high' with my friends. Please note I am not taking any opiods, I am a senior citizen, and my only friends these days are my family and my cat. He may have done well in school, but someone needs to teach him some manners and respect for other people. I have been going to Northwestern doctors for various specialties, but this just may be where we part ways. I wish I had read the previous reviews before making this appointment. I hope this review keeps someone from making the same mistake I made.

Dr. Grebenciucova appears to be very intelligent and Knowledgeable about M.S. ,she's not shy about letting you know that. Her bed side manor is not very good and in my opinion she does not like male Pt's. She can be very condescending and unwilling to listen to the pt's concerns. She also doesn't seem interested in forming a Patient Dr relationship, I felt like a customer not a pt. I was very hopeful that I finally found a Dr who cared about my health, That wasn't the case.

I had one of the best experiences I've ever had with a medical care professional when seeing Dr. Elena Grebenciucova for a neurological concern related to severe migraines and hormonal birth control. She took my concern seriously, actively listened and reflected back what I was telling her, demonstrated empathy and expertise in the field, and urgently pursued a solution. As many women might unfortunately know, this level of belief and attentiveness can be rare to come by with medical professionals. Dr. Grebenciucova went the extra mile to research the particular birth control I had been taking, communicate (via phone call!) its dangers with my particular predisposition, and expertly recommend an alternative, safer option. As a result, I've been doing much better. I would recommend her to anyone, especially women seeking help with neurological issues related to hormonal birth control.

Many stars for the hospital and its facilities but one star for this doctor. She was curt and rude, and cut me off rudely when I tried to say something or ask a question. It was like me and my questions didn't even matter so I just sat there and let her do the talking. She's unpleasant in her manner and I felt like a number more than a person. I think I should have come to the appointment with another person because maybe she's one of those doctors that will take care to answer questions and treat you better if you're accompanied by someone else and there's not only you and her sitting in that room. I actually see another doctor at NW and he's fantastic, so I had high hopes for this doctor as well, but those hopes were quickly dashed, which just goes to show that the same facility can have excellent doctors and, well, not so much... I hope I can get much better treatment and care with someone else and maybe I'll bring someone along with me to the appointment this time.

I don't mind a doctor not having what's known as a "bedside manner" provided the doctor is good at what he or she does, meaning, is someone you can rely on to treat you/recommend treatment that actually helps you. It seemed that this doctor neither has the bedside manner nor what it takes to help me at all, so that's 2/2 where she fails miserably. Sorry, can't recommend a doctor that seems uninterested in her patient and unreliable to the point that I decided to seek help elsewhere. It's sad when things like this happen because a doctor is someone that should be looked up to and trusted. I'll just chalk this up to a bad experience and of course what's important is that I finally got the care I needed.

OMG if you want to know what the business end (the consumer/patient) will feel like with an unempathetic, rushed, not well informed MD regarding the treatment of migraines, make an appointment with her. I expected but did not receive compassionate care. Between the sighing, the rushed Q and A and patient history I felt as if I had been put through the ringer. This is the future of healthcare apparently, ie dispassionate rushed care (and care was anything but here). I get it medicine is a business, it’s a numbers game. If your medical care involves NWMH, be forewarned. Their specialists and primary care physicians may not render assistance as you need and deserved.

I read some negative reviews online but decided to visit Dr. Elena Grebenciucova anyway because I needed to see a neurologist with an MS specialty. I found her to be smart, very knowledgable and sound in her recommendations. She spoke quickly, which I am used to, but she slowed down when I asked her my questions and took time to be sure I was able to ask my questions. She also was attentive to my lab results and suggested some additional tests, which were due to her paying attention. I felt comf

very gentle with my mother who has had Parkinsonism for 12 years now. especially now with my mother's age at nearly 92 since all PD cases are different, and patients themselves are different persons, the doctor is very good at reading the right approach and builds complete trust in the care plan going forward. 12 years is a long time with the condition, 1 year with another doctor who spoke over or through my mother to Dr Zadikoff who directs everything at eye level to the patient. wow
