I called in to cancel my appointment because i was sick. Fever, cough. Sore throat in which made my voice go in and out. The front desk receptionist by the name of Mallissa said that i would have a $50.00 cancellation fee if i misses my appointment. Despite my fever.l, cough and sore throat. My daughter who was with me had to take over the call. Because my voice was in and out. There waa no reasoning with the receptionist. All i heard at this point my daughtee saying, “Ma’am, we understand about your cancellation policy, but my mom is sick and she is laying down right now. And since its just a general follow up appointment, can we come in tomorrow morning. Unfortunately, the answer was no and the cancellation policy was mentioned again. So my daughter talked to a nurse and the nurse apologised for the receptionist. There waa no empathy on the phone. I am completely heartbroken. I never imagined this kind of lack of empathy in a doctor’s office.
