Review of Dr. Carter

-Hallandale Beach, FL |

My wife have been suffering from GAD for the last 10 years. Last July, 2017 she had a breakdown that put her at the Behavioral Unit of Aventura Hospital. Thanks God, that Dr. Carter was there to take care of her. After a year now, my wife is the same caring person that I married many years ago: a change in prescription drugs have made the miracle. Dr. Carter understood that my wife have become addicted to benzodiazepines and thru 12 days at the hospital was able to detox her.

This Psychiatrist is the best I have ever known. He saved my life. Before meeting Dr. Jose Valladares, I was taking a medication that was for something else. Thanks to what I found with this Psychiatrist. He restored my life and I will be eternally grateful for that. Thank you very much!!!

He's like a shady used car salesman! I came in for a simple Xanax refill and he gave me a hard sell for a $1,500 brain scan. My BCBS insurance doesn't cover it (probably because it's not necessary) so he insisted I sign up for a payment plan of $500 per month. All the while he kept repeating, "I'm not in this for the money." and for some reason he kept his eyes closed almost the whole time he was talking to me. It was odd and unethical.

Review of Dr. Carter

The worst experience I ever have with someone who's suppose to be a Health Professional. This doctor insulted my intelligence, disrespect my time by spending two hours talking and talking without stop or listening with the only purpose of selling me a $5,000 test that he "have" to do before treating me. He stated that he is the only one having this systems and that all other psychiatric doctor are wrongdoing by prescribing medicines that makes people "kill themselves" Terrible, Terrible.

Review of Dr. Carter

Dr. Carter is extremely knowledgeable. His testing method is cutting edge and he accurately diagnosed my issues in one session whereas other psychiatrists, using the old trial and error method, couldn't accurately diagnose me for years. Dr. Carter's approach is unique, aside from being quickly accurate, he develops good relationships with his clients. Major drawback is the long wait times during some appointments.

He is well educated and knows the brain and drugs really well but he only cares about the money and not your well being. Stay away ! He will not listen to you but he sure will tell you his financial problems. Really, stay away. Look for someone affiliated with well known hospitals

Dr. Carter posits himself a psychiatrist, but insists that in order to treat you, he must perform a test that most insurance companies don't cover, and that'll cost you a min. of $1,500. He explained himself and his methods to me, and after his pitch I left his office with an uneasy feeling. He claims he can accurately read an EEG (a cap that roughly measures electrical activity of the brain over scalp) while performing a simple test, and can prescribe the right drug the first time. Hogwash.
