Biography: <p>Dr. Rabin is a summa cum laude graduate of Yeshiva University in New York, N.Y., where he received a bachelor's degree in biology. While there, he received the Samuel and Emily Granet Lamler Memorial Award for excellence in pre-med and served as chief of web design for the college's website. He received his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, N.Y., where he was selected for various honors including a research fellowship in ethics and humanism in medicine and positions training and tutoring medical students.&nbsp;</p> <p>Dr. Rabin completed his internship and residency at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York, N.Y., and was elected to serve on committees for Quality Performance and Improvement, as well as Information Services. Biography: <p>After completing medical school at the University of Aleppo School of Medicine in Syria, Dr. Obideen moved to the United States where he completed his internship and residency at the Emory University School of Medicine. During his residency, he was awarded the Dr. N. Tiliakos Award for Excellence as a Resident in Internal Medicine. His fellowships in gastroenterology and hepatology were also completed at Emory University School of Medicine.</p> <p>In 2005, he was appointed Assistant Professor of Medicine at Emory and as Director of the Hepatology Clinic at the Atlanta Veterans Administration (VA) Medical Center. He was appointed GI Fellowship Associate Director at Emory in 2008 and was named 'Attending of the Year' in the medical school's Division of Digestive Diseases.</p> <p>In his role as an Assistant Professor and GI Fellowship Associate Director at Emory University School of Medicine, Dr. Obideen has lectured frequently on a variety of gastrointestinal issues to medical students, residents and fellows, and has spoken at several GI conferences and meetings. His clinical and academic activities focused on pancreatobiliary, liver and colon diseases as well as advanced therapeutic endoscopy. He has actively participated in a number of clinical research projects and has authored and co-authored numerous articles, which have appeared in several publications, including <em>Practical Gastroenterology</em>, <em>Digestive Diseases and Sciences</em>, <em>Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology Journal</em>, and <em>The Journal of Virology</em>.</p> <p>In addition to his medical board certifications, Dr. Obideen holds a National Board of Nutrition Support Certification (NBNSC). He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the American Society of Nutrition Support. For the second consecutive year, he was named to <em>Atlanta </em>magazine's 'Top Doctors' guide in gastroenterology by Castle Connally Medical, Ltd.&nbsp;</p> <p>Dr. Obideen joined Atlanta Gastroenterology Associates in 2009.</p>

Biography: <p>After graduating with a bachelor's degree from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Dr. Sanford received a medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. While there, she served as vice president for the college's chapter of the Student National Medical Association and was a recipient of both the Stoney Scholarship and United States Achievement Academy Collegiate Award. Dr. Sanford completed an internship and residency at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C., where she served as Assistant Chief Resident and was named Duke Service Champion in Patient Care twice. She continued her training at Duke, completing a fellowship in gastroenterology.</p> <p>Dr. Sanford has lectured on various digestive topics, including irritable bowel syndrome, management of esophageal cancer, and colonic strictures, and has been published in the <em>American Journal of Gastroenterology</em>. She is a member of the American Gastroenterology Association and Duke's Minority Medical Retention and Recruitment Committee. Before joining Atlanta Gastroenterology Associates, Dr. Sanford practiced in Villa Rica, Ga.</p> <p>In addition to general gastroenterology, Dr. Sanford has a special interest in colorectal cancer screening, inflammatory bowel disease and helicobacter pylori. She joined Atlanta Gastroenterology Associates&nbsp;in 2013.</p>

Biography: <p>A native of Mexico, Dr. Finkelman received his bachelor's degree in biology from Yavne School in Mexico City. He received his medical degree from the National Autonomous University of Mexico City School of Medicine where he graduated with honors. He then completed an internship at the General Hospital in Mexico City where he was also granted honors.</p> <p>After moving to the United States, Dr. Finkelman completed his residency at Sinai Hospital-John Hopkins Hospital and Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland. He completed a fellowship in gastroenterology at the Ochsner Medical Foundation Hospital and Clinic in New Orleans, Louisiana.</p> <p>For more than 35 years, Dr. Finkelman has been in private practice serving the communities of Austell and Hiram. During that time, he also completed a master's degree in business administration from the Goizueta School of Business at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.</p> <p>Dr. Finkleman is a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American Board of Gastroenterology, and the Mexican Board of Gastroenterology. He is a member of the Georgia Gastroenterology Society, and he has also co-authored several publications covering topics such as Hepatitis C treatments and diverticulosis.</p> <p>In addition to treating all types of gastrointestinal disorders, Dr. Finkelman is particularly interested in gastroesophageal reflux and colon cancer.</p> <p>Dr. Finkelman is fluent in Spanish and joined the practice in 2016.</p>

Biography: <p>An Atlanta native, Dr. Mendel is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, where he received a bachelor's degree in chemistry with a concentration in biochemistry. He then received his medical degree from the Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta. While there, he was awarded a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Research Fellowship, allowing him to spend a year studying immunology at the Emory Transplant Center. Dr. Mendel continued at the university to complete his internship and residency in internal medicine, as well as a fellowship in gastroenterology. During that time, he also served as a research fellow for Emory's Division of Digestive Diseases where he focused on immune function within the liver for the university's vaccine and transplant centers.&nbsp;</p> <p>Dr. Mendel has been a frequent presenter at national conferences, including the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases' annual meeting and the American College of Gastroenterology. He has been published in the <em>American Journal of Transplantation</em> and has co-authored a textbook chapter on liver disease in a physician review guide for the gastroenterology board exam.</p> <p>In addition to general gastroenterology, Dr. Mendel has a special interest in liver disease and inflammatory bowel disease.</p> <p>He joined Atlanta Gastroenterology Associates in 2017.</p>

Biography: <p>Dr. Coe is a cum laude graduate of Georgia State University in Atlanta where she received a bachelor's degree in psychology. After receiving her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, she completed her internship, residency and fellowship in gastroenterology at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Fla.</p> <p>While at the Mayo Clinic, Dr. Coe received an Internal Medicine Resident Research Award and two consecutive Quality Fellow honors. She also received the Olympus Colorectal Cancer Prevention Award by the American College of Gastroenterology for her research on methods for improving precancerous colon polyp detection, and first place in the Florida Gastroenterology Society Fellow's research competition.</p> <p>Dr. Coe has been a presenter at both national and international conferences and has been widely published in journals such as <em>Current Opinion in Gastroenterology</em>, <em>Gastrointestinal Endoscopy</em>, and the <em>American Journal of Gastroenterology</em>. In 2010 and 2012, she served as a scientific reviewer for the American College of Physicians' <em>Digestive and Liver Disease</em> journal and her study on ``Gender Trends in Adenoma Detection: Should the Guidelines for ADR Change?`` was selected the 2012 Digestive Disease Week press program, which highlights important and newsworthy GI research.</p> <p>Dr. Coe is a member of several professional organizations, including the American College of Gastroenterology, the American College of Physicians, the American Gastroenterological Association, and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. In addition to general gastroenterology, Dr. Coe has a special interest in women's health and quality measures in colonoscopy. She joined Atlanta Gastroenterology Associates in 2012.</p>

Biography: <p>Born and raised in Atlanta, Dr. Stern completed his undergraduate degree at Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri. He completed his residency and served an additional year as Chief Resident of Medicine at Emory University. Dr. Stern completed his GI and Advanced Therapeutics Fellowship at the University of Michigan. He is trained in advanced endoscopic procedures such as ERCP. He is Director of DeKalb Endoscopy Center and Director of Clinical Research at Atlanta Academic Research Group. Dr. Stern was named an Atlanta Magazine ``Top Doc`` for the past five years. He is interested in colon cancer screening, biliary disorders, and is the director of Heartburn Solutions Center at Dekalb Medical Center.&nbsp;</p>

Care Philosophy: We approach the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease with a multidisciplinary approach and attempt to understand the issues that the patient is dealing with and come up with a treatment plan that makes sense for that person.

Biography: <p>Dr. Osborn is a summa cum laude graduate of Creighton University in Omaha, Neb., where he also attended medical school. Following his internship and residency in internal medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Ariz., he completed a fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.</p> <p>While in Rochester, Dr. Osborn earned a master's degree in clinical science and research with a specialty concentration in noninvasive methods of colon cancer screening in average risk patients and inflammatory bowel disease. He has additional special interest and training in familial colon cancer syndromes and genetic counseling and non-surgical hemorrhoid treatment. Dr. Osborn is also a medical photographer and lecturer.</p> <p>In 2005, Dr. Osborn was named International Health Professional of the Year by the International Biographical Centre, Cambridge, England, for outstanding contributions to medicine. For the fourth consecutive year, he was named to&nbsp;<em>Atlanta&nbsp;</em>magazine's&nbsp;2017 ``Top Doctors`` - a list of top physicians in the metro area. Biography: <p>Dr. McCutchen is a cum laude graduate of the University of Georgia in Athens where she received a bachelor's degree in chemistry and served as a National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Heart Lung and Blood Scholar. After completing her medical degree at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, Dr. McCutchen returned to Georgia to complete her internship and residency at Emory University Hospitals in Atlanta. During her residency, she was a NIH Fellow in Academics Scholar and received the 'Senior of the Year' award. She also served as an attending physician at Stephens County Hospital in Toccoa, Ga.</p> <p>During her fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Florida's College of Medicine in Jacksonville, Dr. McCutchen served as Chief Fellow and also served as an emergency department physician for the Department of Veterans Affairs in Gainesville, Fla.</p> <p>Prior to joining Atlanta Gastroenterology Associates, Dr. McCutchen was in private practice in Athens, Ga., for two years. She has been published in the <em>Southern Medical Journal</em>, the <em>Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology</em>, and the <em>International Journal of Colorectal Disease</em>. She is also a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterological Association and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.</p> <p>In addition to general gastroenterology, Dr. McCutchen has a special interest in women's GI health and gastrointestinal neoplasms.
