Dr. Kim's Biography — Dr. Lawrence Kim attended Princeton University for his undergraduate studies and graduated cum laude from the Woodrow Wilson School for Public and International Affairs. He received his medical degree from The Johns Hopkins University and went on to complete internship and residency in internal medicine at Beth Israel Hospital of Harvard Medical School. He completed his gastroenterology fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco where he pursued additional training in outcomes and clinical research. During fellowship, he also received advanced training in endoscopic ultrasound, which remains an area of special interest. Dr. Kim has been a leader in organized medicine throughout his career. In 2004, he was the first gastroenterologist to join the Board of Directors of the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, the leading accreditor of ambulatory endoscopy centers. In 2011, he was elected Clinical Practice Councilor for the American Gastroenterological Association and serves on the Governing Board of this national society. Dr. Kim is committed to improving the quality of digestive care worldwide; he has led or served on multiple medical missions to Vietnam and Cambodia. Beyond his professional activities, he is first and foremost a dedicated husband and father. An avid skier and outdoors enthusiast, he loves nothing more than spending a day in the Colorado mountains with his family.

Dr. Vahabzadeh's Biography — Dr. Babac Vahabzadeh enrolled in the 6-year combined BA/MD program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. After completing the program, he moved to St. Louis, Missouri where he completed his internal medicine residency at Barnes-Jewish hospital/Washington University School of Medicine. Dr. Vahabzadeh then proceeded to obtain specialty training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology from The University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. He also received an additional year of advanced endoscopic training including treatment of pancreatico-biliary disease as well as Barrett's esophagus and esophageal cancer at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. As a result, Dr. Vahabzadeh's special interest is in the treatment of diseases involving the pancreas, biliary system as well as Barrett's esophagus but is passionate about general gastroenterology and endoscopy.

Dr. Lewis's Biography — Dr. Lewis attended Colorado College in Colorado Springs on a Boettcher Scholarship, where he graduated with high honors. His medical training took him to Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, where he completed medical school, internship and residency in Internal Medicine. He then returned to Denver for sub-specialty fellowship training in Gastroenterology at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. He has practiced gastroenterology in south Denver since 1991. Dr. Lewis is Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. Dr. Lewis currently acts as President of South Denver Gastroenterology. He serves on the Colorado Medicare Carrier Advisory Committee representing the Colorado-Wyoming Gastroenterology Society, on the Swedish Hospital Peer Review Committee, and on the Craig Rehabilitation Hospital Medical Executive Committee. Dr. Lewis's interests include therapeutic biliary and gastrointestinal endoscopy, endoscopic management of Barrett's esophagus, gastrointestinal problems in patients with spinal cord injury, and management of inflammatory bowel disease. When not working, Dr. Lewis enjoys biking, swimming and skiing.
