Professional Background: Dr. Stover received his B.A. in Geophysics from Occidental College and then worked as a field geologist in the Rocky Mountains and Hawaii. Before going on to dental school, he also worked as a carpenter, and taught English in Japan. He received his DDS from Northwestern University Dental School, where he was elected by the faculty to Kappa Sigma Upsilon, the dental honor fraternity. After graduation, he joined the Air Force to do an AEGD residency and a residency in prosthodontics. He also received a Master's Degree from the University of Texas in Prosthodontics for his research on cell interactions with implant surfaces, and has lectured both nationally and internationally. He was stationed at Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska, where he was responsible for the clinical and didactic instruction of AEGD residents, general dentists, and laboratory technicians. There he maintained an active clinical practice and was the regional prosthodontic consultant to the Air Force Surgeon General and the Officer in Charge of the Regional Dental Laboratory. He is the recipient of the Meritorious Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and was elected Company Grade Officer of the Quarter. He has published a thesis at the University of Texas, and articles in the Journal of Periodontology and the International Journal of Dental Research. Professional Affiliations: Dr. Stover is a board certified fellow of the American Board of Prosthodontics, a member of the American College of Prosthodontics, the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the National Dental Honor Fraternity Kappa Sigma Upsilon. He currently serves on the ACP Judicial Committee, and for the ACP ProsNet Study. He is currently the Pacific Coast Regional Director for the American Society of Prosthodontists. Personal Interests: Dr. Stover grew up in the Pacific Northwest. He is a Christian, a husband, and a father of four children from ages nine to seventeen. He enjoys his family, cooking, carpentry, golf, mountaineering, and backpacking.
