While attending Snow College, he met and married Willcox native, Mary Bushman, and the couple moved to Thatcher in 2013 after graduating from dental school. Prior to college, Mark spent two years on a church mission in Brazil, where he developed a love for carne asada, volleyball, and açaí. Upon returning home, he started his educational pursuits at local Snow College, spending his afternoons volunteering as an assistant coach for the high school baseball team. Mark and Mary met and got married before transferring to Utah Valley University, where Mark served as the pre-dental club president and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in biology. The Johnsons then moved their family to Omaha, Nebraska where Mark attended the Creighton University School of Dentistry. Dr. Johnson excelled during his dental school studies again graduating Magna Cum Laude while receiving his DDS degree. Upon graduation from dental school, Mark began work in Safford where he practiced dentistry for a year. They then relocated to Queen Creek where he's been working for the last two years. He and his family are thrilled at the opportunity to return again to the Gila Valley and this time put down roots."
