I was told that I needed to have a tooth pulled due to an abscess under the tooth and a fistula on the gum. The tooth had had a root canal and had been capped. The adjacent teeth would also have to be capped to make a permanent bridge. (One tooth had already been capped.) I set the appointment, and then decided to get a second opinion. The new dentist gave me the option of redoing the root canal. Within 24 hours of that procedure, the tooth is perfectly fine. No extraction, saved $2000.
