This content was provided by Dr. King "It has always been my professional goal to be an orthodontist and believe all faces go places more confidently with a smile! I am so happy to have the excellent staff that I do, with a combined total of almost 100 years in orthodontics. I take great pride and joy in making a difference in patients’ lives, and I love watching our younger patients mature as they progress through treatment. I also strive to instill good oral hygiene, because oral health affects overall health. I was born and raised in Louisiana, then moved to Memphis, Tennessee to earn my Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Tennessee in 1988. I remained at the University of Tennessee where I completed my orthodontic residency in 1990. I then completed additional training in surgical orthodontics and interdisciplinary care for patients with craniofacial anomalies at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. I’ve never stopped learning about my profession and participating in continuing education keeps me current on new procedures and equipment. Tweed International Study Club American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association UNM Cleft Palate Clinic I opened my practice in 1992, and what a wonderful place it is for someone seeking orthodontic treatment. We love giving back to the community and host charity drives like Koats for Kids and canned food drives. We also love to dress up from time to time, like on Pajama Day, Cinco de Mayo, or Tie Day just to name a few! Our highly skilled yet fun-loving team will make your orthodontic experience the best it can be. The entire team is also comfortable working with patients that have surgical and/or cleft palate treatment concerns. When I’m not practicing my passion in orthodontics I enjoy yoga, spinning, long-distance cycling, mountain biking, Pilates, and gardening. I have a stepdaughter named Christy and always keep myself active in the community. I have donated over five years in dental services to Mission of Mercy Clinics and two years to the Cleft Palate Team at the University of New Mexico. I also contribute to Smile Train, which provides funding and training in cleft palate surgery to doctors in developing countries."
