This content was provided by Dr. Cordoba "Dr. John Cordoba has been in orthodontic practice since 1991. He received his under graduating degree Cum Laude from Wittenberg University in Ohio and then attended Loyola University School of Dentistry in Chicago, graduating Cum Laude with his D.D.S. degree. While in Dental School. he received the Loyola Research Grant for scientific research and was elected for membership into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Society. Dr. Cordoba has special insight into general dentistry. Before continuing on to specialty training. he completed a general practice residency at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington. D.C., and also practiced as a dentist. After two years of further study. he completed his 0rthodontic residency at Northwestern University in Chicago and received his Masters of Science degree for research involving cleft lip and palate. Dr. Cordoba is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and is a member of the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics. Only 25% of orthodontist in the United States are board certified. furthermore, he was asked by the board to be one of only ten orthodontists in the country to present a case at the American Association or Orthodontists annual meeting. A native of Chicago. Dr. Cordoba moved to the Orlando area after finishing his Orthodontic training. He is currently an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association and the Florida Association of Orthodontists. Dr. Cordoba is also very active in organized dentistry. He is a past-president and current board member of the Dental Society of Greater Orlando, a member of the Executive Council of the Central District Dental Association and a delegate to the Florida Dental Association. Dr. Cordoba and his wife Sophia, who is a general demist, enjoy fishing. boating, traveling and, most of all. spending time with their .sons. Johnny and Alexander. Orlando Magazine recently selected Dr. Cordoba as one of the "Best Orthodontists in the Orlando Area.',"
