cruel
The staff were wonderful. Dr. Ludington himself was a condescending, egotistical, cruel person to deal with. Despite the fact that I experienced dental trauma twice in the past due to very serious provider errors, and the fact that my primary dentist whom I love just misdiagnosed my need for a root canal as TMJ (though I insisted the pain was from the tooth that did--in fact--need the root canal), after I asked a simple question while I was in pain + anxious ("How do you tell?" after he said I needed a root canal with zero explanation) he barked at me "you have to trust me 100% or we won't do this." This while I was sitting there in excruciating pain after not taking any pain meds for 12 hrs as per their instructions (so understandably, he could get an accurate diagnosis). He DEMANDS complete trust before he has earned ANY. He was rude, answered my questions with a few words if at all, acted as though my curiosity and concern for my own body was disgusting. More, but not enough room.

Professional and to the point. After several (painless) root canals, I trust Dr Ludington implicitly with all of my advanced dental procedures. He described my upcoming implant procedure in complete detail and the office staff complemented the experience with a thorough explanation of the timeline as well as the finances. I once again left his office fully informed & fully confident that I will be receiving the highest level of dental care available. As usual!

I had an awful experience at this office. Condescending, rude, unapologetic, absolutely no bedside manner. The receptionist and billing associate were very pleasant and friendly, but Dr. Ludington and the dental assistant were not. Dr. Ludington came in the room, and after not explaining the test he was doing or providing good instruction, (essentially wanted me to raise my hand when I felt pain, but apparently I was releasing my bite too soon, though he hadn’t explained what he was doing) said “you’re doing it wrong” and physically put my hand down. You tend to feel vulnerable in a dentist chair, with a stranger’s hand in your mouth, and I left in tears. Terrible experience, would not recommend going to this office.

Dr. Ludington was referred by a good friend who thought he was terrific. I do too. He puts his patients' first above making a buck. I went for a consult with him in the hope to have a future tooth implant. He took the time to listen to all my medical conditions and prescriptions and gently broke the bad news to me that I wasn't an implant candidate. He has a very high success rate with his implant surgeries, however he knows when it isn't good for a patient and when it would put them at significant health risk. It is also a big financial risk too to invest in an implant that has a good chance of failing over the months since most dental insurance covers only a part of it and there is a crown cost too. That is rare in a surgeon these days that puts patient's well being over bringing in money for his practice.

Dr. Ludington and his staff strive to make your visit comfortable and anxiety free. Dr. Ludington pulls up a chair next to you, answering any questions you may have; his staff -- especially Abby -- is amazing at keeping the anxiety levels down. I highly recommend this practice -- walking in, I was a ball of fear since I never had an extraction/implant, and found them kind and caring for the entire procedure. The office staff is also excellent. Highly recommend all the way around.

Yesterday morning Dr. Nesvold (also WONDERFUL) referred me to Dr. Luddington for a root canal. I called his office at 8am and was scheduled for a noon appointment that same day. The receptionist was very friendly and welcoming and I waited less than five minutes in the waiting room and in the chair. His assistants were very nice explained everything to me. Dr. Luddington was equally pleasant, creating small talk to keep my mind of everything. It was a surprisingly pain free experience!
