Dr. Willis says...

Heather Willis has split her time between Alaska and Colorado.  She was born in Denver, but moved to Delta Junction when she was in 2nd grade.  Once she graduated high school, she attended both undergraduate school and dental school in Colorado, where she graduated from the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine in 2004.  She then went on to complete a 1-year General Practice Residency at the University of Colorado Hospital and then worked for Dental Aid, a not-for-profit dental clinic in Louisville and Longmont, CO. After having her second child, Heather moved back to Interior Alaska and took a position as the Dental Director for Interior Community Health Center in Fairbanks.  In 2010, she joined the long established office of Dr James Cerney, which she purchased in December of 2010.

Heather is a tripartite member of the American Dental Association (ADA), Alaska Dental Society (ADS) and North Central District Dental Society (NCDDS).  She served as the President of the NCDDS from 2010 to 2011.  She went on to serve as Secretary of the ADS (2011 to 2012), President-Elect (2012 to 2013), President (2013 to 2014), and Immediate Past President until October, 2015. She was voted to serve as the Alaska Dental Society Delegate to the ADA for a term of two years (2015 to 2017).  At the national level, Heather was chosen to represent the 11th District to serve on the ADA Council on Membership (2015 to 2019).  She Chaired the Alaska Mission of Mercy which took place in Fairbanks August 7-8, 2015 and is currently serving as the Chair of Donated Dental Services in Alaska.  Heather is also a member of the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD).  She was inducted into the International College of Dentists (ICD) in October, 2013 and into the American College of Dentists (ACD) in October, 2016.

Dr. Willis' Care Philosophy

Our commitment is to provide a lifetime of care that contributes to whole body health and wellness.

Dr. Willis says...

We trust our dental specialists in our area, so we can focus on delivering quality, comprehensive general dentistry for your family.  With considerable coordination with specialists, we can do everything from regular oral health maintenance with cleanings, deep cleanings (periodontal maintenance), exams and digital x-rays to complex, phased cosmetic cases that might require coordinating with orthodontists and surgeons.  We restore teeth and implants with the highest quality materials using a local Alaskan laboratory.  We gladly treat kids starting at 6 months after the first erupted tooth appears (usually 1 year old) according to AAPD and AAP guidelines.  We take in account your oral health with your overall health and wellness and can help guide you to a more functional balance.

Dr. Willis says...

We perform comprehensive exams, digital x-rays, regular prophylaxis (cleanings), scaling and root planing therapy (deep cleanings), resin (white) fillings, amalgam (silver) fillings; traditional crowns, bridges, and veneers; implant crowns, bridges and dentures (fixed and removable), traditional partial dentures and dentures, comprehensive cosmetic cases, night guards and oral sleep appliances,.
